"What?" said Natalie.

"Yes, I'm allowing you to take the kids to the mall tomorrow."

"What about you mommy?" Asked Aryanna.

"I have.. a.. work." I remembered I have to take my monthly Caregiver Assessment.

It's a quiz for Caregivers. Basically you have 40 minutes to take care of a baby, child, and tween like you would at home. That's half the test. The other half is an actual assessment. there are 25 questions you need to answer about being a Caregiver. different each month. if you get below a 70 you have to take it again next month and if you get above a 70 your qualified. Between 51-69 your automatically unqualified, your kids go to another Caregiver and you lead a normal life for 6 months then you take the test again depending on how you do you may or may not get kids again. Below a 50 no kids for the rest of your life.

I hope I do well. I know I'll do well. I can't lose my kids.

"Oh come on mommy, take the day off."

" 'Fraid I can't dear."

"Fine!" they said.

I looked to the clock. -10:02- It's past the kids bedtimes.

"Alright kids it's time for bed."

"Aww come on mom," Said Taylor

"No hon you have to go to bed."

"Just till 20 after please." Taylor said

"If you keep complaining you won't go to the mall tomorrow!"

"Fine!" The kids ran upstairs to their rooms. Natalie looked to me.

"Where do I sleep?" she says.

"In the couch." I say.

"Really what about that guest bedroom you had."

"Yeah I had a guest bedroom until I got Daniel!"

"Oh, I'll sleep on the couch."

"Okay, I have to read Daniel a story before he goes to bed."

"K then afterwards we need to talk."

+++++

"...Then they lived happily ever after"

I finished reading the book to Daniel and he was already asleep. I kissed him on the forehead, turned off the light, Then left.

"ow!" That came from Taylor's room.

"Tay, hon go to bed."

"Oh sorry mom I was just doing homework!"

"I know you weren't doing homework because you finished it earlier."

"Man, your so smart. I was practicing my powers."

"What did I tell you!"

"I was just curious mom."

"Well curiosity killed the cat, so go to bed! And no more powers!"

"Alright goodnight mom, love you!"

"Love you too hon."

+++++

"Alright what did you want to talk about?" I ask Natalie laying out some blankets on the couch.

"Your assessment tomorrow." Every month she gives me the same speech. 'do good' 'I know you can"

"Ya ya ya I know!"

"This is serious Alexa." She looked serious.

"Then what is it?"
