Skyler POV
"I'm sorry." I hear him mumble and at the moment I thank the gods for my acting abilities because I would have broken down in front of them when I hear him say that.
"You know I never thought I'd be so disappointed and proud of myself in my whole life." I say shaking my head before I take a step closer to him.
"Look me in the eyes and tell me you want me to stay away from you, tell me you really hate me and that this is what you want and I will leave, say it here in front of everyone. Tell me that I never really knew you at all." I say raising a brow at him looking directly in his eyes. As much as this would break me I knew that I needed to hear it if I wanted to stay away.
~5 Months Before~
"Mia it's time to go!" I hear my mother's voice yell from downstairs making me sigh and finish straightening my light brown hair leaving it down and taking my phone and headphones in my hand looking around the room one last time, it was finally time to leave this room, this house. I step out of the room and walk downstairs silently walking to the car with my mother. I was surprised when she got in the car with Adam -her husband- and the 4 hour drive to Clear Lakes University -CLU- started. The drive was quiet for me considering I put my earphones in and listen to music all the way.
I was going to be staying in the school dorms for the first semester while I find a car of my own and an apartment, of course after I get a job. Adam had offered to help me but as always I denied him, I wanted to do this on my own and I don't want to owe anything to him nor my mother. I got here on my own with my own scholarships and hard work I wasn't gonna give that up by asking for their help now. When we got there they asked if I needed any help with my things but I declined taking my bags in hand before giving them a smile and a wave turning around towards the university.
I smile as I look at how big it is and look around, my schedule and room number in hand with a map of the whole school. I start looking for my room number until finally I found it and opened the door to find a girl with tattoos and piercings making me swallow slightly. Not judging her or because I'm scared of her, no that's no it, not at all.
"You must be Skyler." She said giving me a smirk and I give her a smile both of us looking each other up and down.
"I am." I say walking to the bed, I was expecting a roommate just not one like her, I'm gonna have to be careful.
"I'm Samira but please call me Sam." She said and I nodded putting my stuff on the bed opening the bag taking a few books out placing them on the bed before taking my cloth off. I was pleasantly surprised when I notice there were two of everything in this room, but there was only one bathroom but I'm not complaining at least it's not a public one. I start putting my cloth in the closet before starting to place the books in the little book shelve. I didn't have many books considering I prefer e-books over the actual books to not be carrying them everywhere and so heavy too. These books though where books my father gave me so I treasure them more than anything.
"So you one of them nerds?" She asked making me chuckle.
"If you wanna call me that sure." I say finishing with my books just as the door flew open and both our heads flew to look at it as a guy with a lot of tattoos came in, his face was flawless, sharp features and that jaw line would be everyone's envy, I could see the lip ring and the piercings on his ears, his eyes were a deep but cold green as his eyes land on me they narrow.
"Oh Xavier, this is my roommate Skyler, Skyler this is Xavier." Sam introduced us and Xavier rolled his eyes. I swallow slightly, I should probably go down and change dorms but I know I can't, this was one of the only rooms they had free and I was lucky enough to get it.
"Oh Skyler you should come with us! There's a party tonight." She said smiling at me and I raise a brow.
"Oh come on Sam I just met her and I can already tell she's not going." Xavier said in a mocking way but I didn't care, I'm not about to let him get under my skin. His British accent couldn't be thicker and his voice was low and kinda raspy.
"He's right, I need my sleep, tomorrow is my first day and I want to be ready." I say giving her a smile.
"See? She's just a pussy." He said making me bite my tongue, not now.
"Come on Skyler it'll be fun." Sam said ignoring his comment.
"Maybe I'll go in the weekend but not today." I say still smiling. I'm not letting him get to me.
"Fine, see you later, let's go Xavier." Sam said walking out as Xavier looked at me up and down before scoffing and walking out of the room closing the door behind him. I roll my eyes and get everything ready for tomorrow before laying in the bed looking at the ceiling deciding to listen to some music and read a book for 30 minutes before I went to sleep. My alarm woke me up early and I took my cloth and walked towards the bathroom avoiding the mirror until I was fully dressed, I left my hair down like always straightened and look in the mirror before finishing my look and walking out of the bathroom, Sam was no where to be seen making me roll my eyes knowing she didn't come come back last night. Taking my bag in hand I walk out to find my first class.
