TW: alcohol & smoking
sorry this is shorter and a little boring but it's gonna line things up i swear and then y'all will have as much Cason, Mali, and Jali as you want
“I came to check on you guys and see where you guys went. Uh,” Justin gulped and let out a nervous chuckle.
My face was red.
“Could you give us some privacy please?” Mack walked over to the door.
I zipped up my dress and immediately pushed past the both of them as I raced down the stairs and to the backyard. Tamara was staring at me with a smirk as Anne wouldn’t look up at me.
“Mack and I didn’t do anything.” I stated towards Anne.
Anne gave me a scowl and then walked off. I walked back towards the house and bit down hard on my bottom lip. It was a stress habit.
“Cali, come here.” Justin was at the end of the hallway.
“I’m not a dog,” I mumbled but I walked over anyways.
“I kicked Mack out. You guys obviously can’t handle being in the same place together.”
“I’m not into him. I don’t have any feelings for him whatsoever.”
“You just tried to swallow him practically!”
“I never said I was smart! I’m indecisive okay?”
“Well, you need to tell him that.” Justin stepped closer to me.
I closed the gap between us and pushed my chest against his and held my head high.
“Why should I?”
“Because I don’t want his feelings hurt and I certainly don’t want Anne’s feelings hurt either. Don’t you care? I certainly don’t understand why everyone likes you so much. They all want to keep hanging out with you but you’re kind of a sucky person.” Justin scolded down on me.
“Me,” I inquired loudly, “What’s wrong with you?! One minute you’re telling my how lively and great I am and the next you’re telling me I’m the most repugnant person you’ve ever met! This is the first I’ve come to being close with any friends since seventh grade! Why are you such a brat!?”
Justin’s face softened and he grabbed my hand. He held it for a moment and then pulled me up the stairwell to his room. He slammed the door and then immediately walked us over to his bed. He sat us down. For a moment, I was nervous he was going to pull something. Then I remembered he was an uptight virgin with a girlfriend.
“I’m sorry.” Justin said softly.
“Do you really hate me?” I asked him.
“No. Meeting you has been crazy. You’re weird and rebellious. I haven’t been around many people like that. It’s a good crazy but it just change makes me uncomfortable. So I’m sorry for treating you so rudely. I don’t want you to take it personally.”
I wasn’t used to people acting nicely so I ignored his apology.
“Let’s just get back to the party.” I gave Justin a half smile and patted his shoulder awkwardly.
Tamara and Aimee were waiting for me at the doorway.
“Cali, are you all right? What happened with Mack?” Tamara twirled a finger in her blonde hair and took a drink from her cup.
“Yeah, I, uh, ended things with Mack. I’m not looking for a relationship. Is there alcohol in that cup?”
Tamara shook her head, “I try not to drink too much in front of Justin.”
