Sorry, I know it's been about a week. I've just had some exams but now that they're over I'll try and update as regularly as possible. Also, I was not ready for Season 6!! I can't wait to start writing extended scenes for that season since I feel like it's gonna be a good one for the Bellarkers, but I'm not going to jinx anything. Hope you enjoy this one! :)

Octavia struck out ahead in the darkness of the tunnels. The distant sounds of guttural cries for bloodlust and insanity echoed off the damp walls until she swore she could hear them ricocheting off the insides of her skull.

Reapers were nearby.

The walls of the tunnel were slick with moisture as the young Blake's solitary figure crept forward, her eyes and ears open and alert for the imminent attack that would come if she even made a sound. Time was ticking by while her gaze stayed trained on the large metal door jutting out from the passage wall and was illuminated by small lights coming from a few security cameras mounted by its hinges. The paint was flaking and rusted from years worth of radiation and moisture, and Octavia observed how the red blinking lights from the cameras indicated that the surveillance system was still, very much, online.

In the half dark, she tried to take deep breaths and leaned against one of the mining carts abandoned on the track as her heart sank at the memory of the signal to retreat. She could still feel Indra's cold steel blade pressed to her throat as her mentor had uttered the words that had stopped Octavia's breathing altogether.

You are no longer my second.

She'd disobeyed a direct order and now she was paying the price. Although the thought of it was still close to bringing the tears to her eyes as she remembered the unparalleled pride she'd felt when Indra had first mentioned her trust in Octavia as a valued member of Trigedakru; only to have it ripped away from her moments later, leaving a gaping hole in her that not even the hope that Bellamy was alive, could fill.

But why did Lexa sound the retreat?

Suddenly an alarm sounded, the pipes above her rumbled and a bloody and beaten corpse wrapped in dirty, white bandages tumbled into the cart by her side. The signal was there. The mountain was still operating. And for a brief second Octavia contemplated the possibility of climbing up the chute from which the body had fallen. But no, that wasn't possible.

"It's about time," Octavia whispered to herself.

But as she looked over at the body lying in the bottom of the bloodstained cart, with horror, she realised who it was.

"Fox."

Octavia felt anger ripple through her and she gripped her sword. It seemed that Clarke had been right. They were starting to drain their friends and if she didn't get into the Mountain then all hope would be lost and Bellamy would be killed. If he wasn't already dead.

A noise, like the pounding of feet on gravel, sounded from behind and Octavia whipped around and drew her sword; her feet placed wide and ready for the threat.

Was Indra returning? Had the Reapers finally found her?

For once, Octavia wasn't sure if she could fight them all off. Indra had only just begun to train her and she knew she wasn't ready to face half an army alone. But that didn't mean she wasn't going to die trying.

Without warning, Clarke emerged into view leaving Octavia at a loss. She'd been the last person she'd expected to see in the tunnels.

Clarke felt like she couldn't breathe. Guilt and regret threatened to swallow her as she kept a watchful eye trained on the passage up ahead. She should never have trusted Lexa and had allowed herself to be naive enough to believe they could work as a team. A team that could've saved all their people. Although now it was just Clarke's people left and it was her fault that there were still stuck in this godforsaken Mountain, filled with a civilisation whose ideology was to find a way to live on the Ground. At any cost.
