Chapter 2
I came from darkness to find myself once again in darkness, only this time the glow of the city illuminated my bedroom. Cold sweat clung to my skin, my hair sticking to my back as I panted.
Could it just have beed a dream?
Surely there was no such thing as a three-headed dog!
The dog has no fur, only pink skin flaking off the bone as though the dog was a preserved mummy. Saliva dripped from its mouth in a gloopy drool. It's eyes were as tiny as a rubber bouncy ball and the beast stood eleven feet tall, the stink of rotting bodies slapping from its body in waves.
In this dream I fought the beast after it attacked the city, destroying everything in its wake until it found me. I watched as it emerged from the ground, hellbent with bloodlust. I observed in horror as I tried to find refuge, yet the creature attacked everywhere I went. I had to stop it. Luring it away would be the best chance I could get.
The creature roared as I burst into a run, the stench of soul-ripping evil following me. I leapt over a fallen bike as I ran for the edge of the city, luring it as far away from civilisation as possible.
I didn't get far - Maybe a few blocks.
The good thing about this creature was its lack of agility. Well I guess having three heads could be confusing if three brains are telling one body what to do.
Though I did find a small abandoned park.
I gave a quick scan over the abandoned mess for signs of life. Nothing. Nothing but rust and a damn annoying squeal of rusted metal as the swings blew in the wind. It was dark. No streetlights glowed, no headlights of cars passed. Nothing.
A gift sang through my veins as I squinted my eyes to see. With just a blink, I suddenly became aware of my vision going red. More red followed until my vision twisted from normal to infared.
I looked around, searching for the creature just in case it was one of those things that liked to play with their prey. Well sorry puppy but this kitty's got herself some claws.
Once satisfied it was still hunting me, I turned to hide... only to smack right into the creatures flakey paws as all six eyes bore down on me.
Just before the scream left my mouth, the creature flung me to the floor, and had me pinned on the ground with its rotting paws pressing so hard against my chest that its nails sunk into my skin.
I struggled and scratched and kicked and screamed until there was no fight left in me. The creature watched me with amused eyes as I, the mouse caught in the trap, squealed. When I stopped moving the creature continued to nudge me until the fight came back to me. And then a game started. He nudged, I screamed, He'd watch amused, I stopped, he nudged-
- Until he became bored.
The right head of the beast suddenly slashed one set of teeth down my arm and began licking the blood that spurted out.
Venomous rage washed over me. How dare it play with me and then drink from me! With my last remaining hand, I gathered a fireball in my hand. Sparks raged in my soul with fury, the ball in my hand changing from the orange glow to white hot evil. I'd never used this before, never been so angry to conjure the power within to acheive such a goal.
With a snarling battle cry, I hurled the ball towards the creatures middle head. The flame exploded like a nuclear bomb, my protection sheild kicking in on the last second and throwing me back as the beasts claw ripped at the whole length of my body.
