Olympus

Prologue
"Strike with the bravery of a lion, you cowards!" I boomed down to my warriors as they practiced the art of sword fighting. "Do not be afraid to spill blood, you will heal!"
I looked upon my men with disgust. Not one of them showed any hope of becoming a true warrior of Ares, God of War.
A name amongst Mount Olympus that terrified the bravest of Gods. A name that had a man trembling upon the thought of the brute of this God's breath chilling the back of a mans neck, poised to strike. A bloody, horrific, murderous reputation of killing without mercy. A God whom took what he wanted, bargained lives of filthy humans out of sheer boredom.
But most of all, the thing that made this particular God tick, was the sheer love of war.
Yes, I was only ever happy on the battleground. A war cry sounding out as adrenalin dripped from my every pore. The dying screams of men filling my ears. My body smeared with the blood of dead men. The sheer brunt of the fight, the spraying of blood pounding from precious arteries, of winning, of watching with pride as my warriors earned my respect, becoming a shadow of myself.
Earning the right to become an immortal demi-god!
The scent of blossoms and love tickled my nostrils causing me to inhale deeply.
Eyes like a hawk, my gaze locked upon the most lovely of women.
Aphrodite, Goddess of Love.
The Goddess was stunning in every way. From the locks of her curled white blonde hair, pink flowers flowing, roving and weaving through the tresses like a caress. The smile upon her lovely face rendered many men to their knees, for one smile upon them and them alone. Warm green eyes eyed you with pure love.
She was the most beautiful of all the Goddesses. Men craved her.
I watched from my balcony as the blonde bombshell smiled and laughed and flirted with my warriors as she made her way towards me, her pale pink toga billowed in the wind, sending more of her scent to my nostrils to tease all the while the wind teased my eyes with flashes of her supple soft skin.
"Hello, my lover." Aphrodite's husky voice whispered in my ear as she neared closer than anyone would ever dare. Even my lovers did their best to keep their distance from me when we were intimate.
I grabbed her hips and dragged her upon my lap. "I am in no mood to be teased, woman."
"Tsk, tsk, Ares," The Goddess grinned. "Come to my chambers tonight,"
It wasn't a question.
"No," I growled, the vibration of my growl echoing down to the battleground, causing my men's swords to clash all the more harder.
"I know you will," She smiled sulty, pressing a pouty kiss upon my irritated lips. "You need to work off all of this rage, my lover."
"I am not your lover." I snarled, "not anymore."
"No, but we still want each other." She whispered seductively.
With a glower, I pushed her from my lap, causing the Goddess to land on her pert bottom with a thud.
"I have grown weary of you, Aphrodite." I seethed, "Leave before I throw you to my men to be raped and plundered as I watch with malice."
"Beast!" Aphrodite screamed, slashing her perfectly manicured nails across my face.
