The heavy rain blowed against the thin window as loud sounds of thunder awakened the night sky with flashes. I was sitting in an old yet cozy cafe, slightly sipping on my too hot coffee with in betweens of shaking my damp honey brown hair.
My insomnia was getting the best of me on these recent nights where I usually ended up coming to this strangely enticing cafe that was open 24/7.
Beautiful paintings were hung on every wheat and copper colored walls. Antiques and knick knacks were placed on every shelf. Flowers, the color of autumn, were placed neatly on every coffee table bringing an aura of warmth. The coffee shop smelled of not just coffee, but pure vanilla and a sweet pumpkin spice.
The coffee shop wasn't small but it wasn't that big either. Large enough for thirty people from the looks of it.
There was a small library connected on the east side of the coffee shop with shelves and stacks of books. I always wanted to go there, just to peek at what could be in there besides books, but the small library held the presence of a boy.
A boy with skin as pale as a ghost but with such a creamy texture. His face held with such beauty and delicate features. His hair long, shaggy and black falling smoothly around his face, covering his ears. The boy had a lean and tall figure as he was dressed in all black. I've never seen such beauty in a boy on these very streets.
I sipped some more on my coffee, now warm, as I remembered the boy. Since he wasn't here on this dark and rainy night I could have gone to the library. But it was locked due to it's closing at 9 p.m.
The clock said midnight and I sighed. I had to go home. Home.
