Asuka POV
"I can't believe you ordered the most expensive dish in that whole restaurant!", Sky whined as I walked with a satisfied smirk on my face.
"I could see why it was the most expensive dish on that menu. That steak was delicious.", I grinned.
"And you! I can't believe you ordered a piece of chicken that costed 30 bucks!", Sky yelled as he pointed at Brandon. But I'm the corner of my eye, I could see him smirking.
"I could get use to eating like that everyday.", Brandon jokes.
"But you won't! At least, not out of my wallet!", Sky exclaims.
"And thanks to you two, I'm almost broke!"
"Almost. But not absolutely.", I corrected Sky's statement.
"Anyway, it's getting kinda late. Shouldn't we go back to Red Fountain?", Brandon asked. I shrugged in agreement.
"Yeah... I don't want to spend any more money in this city...", Sky sulked.
"But how much do you think it would be to fix your uniform?", I smirked. That statement just made Sky sulk even more. Brandon and I just laughed in amusement at Sky's misery.
We got a bus and arrived at Red Fountain. When we arrived at the dorms, I instantly went in my bathroom to take a shower. I took off my uniform so I was left with my boxers and my upper half covered in a binder. I got the water started so it could get warmer before I entered the tub.
As the water ran, I unwrapped the bandages. I just slanted my back as I silently stared at it's reflection in the mirror. Every person that has the Tanaka royal blood has a blessing and a curse. A small sample of that is the tattoo on my back;
There's a reason why our nation's symbol is the Ying and Yang. That's because we are the ones that can change 'balance'. I know it's unusual, but bare with me.
You see, everything has a counter part. Every plant, every animal, every place, every thing, and every human as something or someone that is opposite from them.
For example, the sun and moon. The sun and moon are incredible by itself. But when they are brought together, they create time that the world runs by. When the sun comes out, it's time for everyone to be awake and for them to be working. But when it's the moon's turn, it's time for everyone to be asleep. Together, the moon and sun create harmony in our lives' schedules.
Like the sun and moon, God created many things that balance each other. And these things need to be balanced, or else it could create chaos.
If there's too much sun, it could absorb too much moisture in the ecosystem, people would have trouble resting with the sun in their eyes, and the world would face incredible, sweltering temperatures daily.
And if there was too much time for the moon, we would lose our main source of light and energy. There would be no evaporation for water. And it would be hard to live in darkness, don't you think?
But the Tanaka family, for centuries, have been maintain and taking care of the world by controlling 'balance' when it is needed. Only the members with the real Tanaka blood in their D.N.A. can have the power to do so.
But-
I shook my head to get rid of the ridiculous thoughts. I can't just stand in the bathroom with nothing progressing. Sky and Brandon would probably think there's something wrong with me. And I can't leave the water on for too long, there's already a leak in this building.
"What the fuck are you doing, Asuka..? Just get in the shower with no problems.", I muttered to myself as I forced myself to get in the tub.
After a moment, I got out of the shower fully relaxed and refreshed. I reequipped the binder. I would've set a spell to create an illusion, but for it to be active all the time is magic consuming. And when I'm unconscious, I could reverse the spell without even realizing it.
I walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my waist. I used my other towel to dry my hair. When I got it as dry as I could, I let it hang around my neck.
I changed into a pair of boxers and a loose kimono. The kimono was white, silky, and soft, perfect for sleeping. I wrapped the belt loosely around my waist since I wanted to be comfortable when I'm sleeping.
I sat on the foot of the bed as I rubbed my calves and feet. I had to rub my legs because of the muscles were tense from the activities I did earlier. Rubbing tense muscles was the quickest and easiest way to stop aches and pains from over-working your body.
I huffed as I rubbed the inner part of my foot with my knuckles. Then I massaged my calves. I did this to both of my feet.
"I swear... If Sky get's himself in trouble again, I better not be the one who has to save his little ass.", I grumbled as I stopped massaging my feet.
I looked over at the hologram that had the current time; 22:35. I hummed as I was thinking on what to do next.
'I guess I could sleep.... You can't go wrong with sleeping..', I thought with a shrug. I flipped the blankets so I could get wedged between the sheets. I shifted myself to get comfortable and adjusted the pillows. I laid my head on the pillow, getting ready to close me eyes. But then I realized something, I forgot to turn off the darn lights.
I groaned as I was about to get up from my comfortable bed. Then I remembered I had magic. I smirked as I pointed my hand towards the light switch. With a snap of my fingers, the room turned dark.
"Oh, how I love having magic..."
I plopped back on my pillow, exhaustion taking over my body. With a sigh of relaxation, I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
Next Morning
"Asuka! Get up!", I heard a voice coming from my door as a banging sounded though-out my room.
".... Go. Away..."
"But the other 2 are here!"
"Then deal with them yourself!", I barked as I stuffed my face on my pillow.
"That's not polite though!"
"Oh, screw politeness! I'm trying to sleep! Don't forget I saved your ass yesterday, so in return, let me sleep!"
"I already paid you back with a 45 dollar steak! Brandon! Tell Asuka to get up!", I heard Sky yell as I heard footsteps walking away from my door.
"Asuka, you know it's 11:25, right?", Brandon's calm voice sounded. I glanced at the hologram to see that Brandon was telling the truth. I just groaned as I flipped the blankets off of me.
"Fine... Just leave me alone...", I muttered as I groggily stretched my arms above my head.
"You better come out here in 10 minutes, Asuka!", Sky voice yelled again. I just grunted as a reply. How did I sleep this long? I'm usually awake by 9. Well, I'm not complaining. Too much sleep can never be a bad thing.
I yawned as I walked into the bathroom. I did my business while I was still half asleep. My jaw clenched as I splashed water on my face. I shook my head to get rid of the extra water drops before drying it with my towel. I sighed as I changed to some appropriate attire before I exited my room.
"So? What was so important that you had to bang on my door?", I grumbled as I scratched my neck tiredly.
"Asuka! C'mere and meet Timmy and Riven."
