Jenna's P.O.V.

"So," The Doctor grinned as he turned to me after closing the TARDIS door. "Where to first?"

I pointed to the lever labeled "RANDOM".

"There," I said.

"Alright then!" He said, walking over to the console and switching the lever.

"HOLD ON!" He shouted playfully, as the TARDIS begun to rock violently.

I gripped the nearest thing I could find, which turned out to be the Doctor's face.

"OW OW OW!" He yelled.

"Sorry!" I yelled back as the TARDIS stopped rocking.

The Doctor bowed and indicated the TARDIS door. "Ladies first."

Rolling my eyes, I stepped out of the TARDIS. It looked like a normal school, with a nearby field. "Ferringham School," I read.

The Doctor frowned. "It looks and sounds familiar, but I don't remember anything about it..." He said.

Suddenly, a woman wearing some sort of fancy dress came charging out of nowhere, tears streaming from her eyes.

The Doctor froze. "It was so long ago, my past regeneration, before Martha left me..." He breathed.

I frowned. "What do you mean?" I questioned him.

He stopped the woman. "Excuse me, are you Nurse Redfern?" He asked her.

"Yes, why?" She replied.

But instead of answering her question, the Doctor asked her another.

"By any chance do you know a man named John Smith?"

More tears streamed from her face.

She's a madwoman, I thought.

"Y-yes, but that's not even his real name. Just-just leave me alone!" She stormed away.

"Joan, wait!" The Doctor called after her.

"Do you know her?" I whispered as she froze.

The Doctor ignored me. Typical.

"How did you know my name?" She asked, shocked, as the Doctor and I edged closer to her.

The Doctor begun to subconsciously stroke her hair.

"Stop it!" She said, looking annoyed.

The Doctor immediately removed his hand from her hair.

"Do you remember?" He asked. "In my-I mean, in John's journal of impossible things, he wrote about the Doctor changing faces. Regenerating."

"Doctor, what are you talking about?" I asked uncertainly.

"So that means..." Joan trailed.

"It's me. The eleventh regeneration," He spread his arms. "Hello!"

"Doctor..." She breathed. Then she fired a few questions. "What happened? Where's Martha? And...who's she?" She pointed at me.

" 'She' can hear you," I grumbled, annoyed.

The Doctor answered the questions one by one. "Nothing happened. Why would anything happen? Martha's back in her own time, safe and sound. And this-" He indicated me. "Is Jenna. Friend of Martha's!" He finished cheerfully.

"I see..." She said.

"I'm going to make this offer one last time, Matron. The offer of traveling with me is still open and available."

"What are you talking about?" I asked them. They didn't listen.

I watched as they stared at each other for a few moments. After a while, I got irritated.

"When you're done eye-fucking," I mumbled. What a bad start for a first trip. He takes me in the TARDIS in "Random" mode, meets some random girl he hasn't seen in a long time, and has eye-sex with her without even properly introducing her to me. How rude.

They both broke off and stared at me.

"Proper introductions, if you please, Doctor," I sighed.

"Sorry, where have my manners gone?" He grinned.

"You never had any," I muttered under my breath.

"This-" He clapped a hand on Joan's shoulder. "Is Nurse Redfern. But you can call her Joan."

"I don't exactly see how that's a nickname," I noted.

"It's my first name," Joan said.

"Oh," I said stupidly.

Then the Doctor explained how they met. From the Family of Blood to his fob watch to John Smith. And, to Nurse Redfern.

"Oh," I said. Great response, huh?

"You do seem like a nice person. It would be great if you could come with us," I offered.

"Well, maybe..." She said. Then she turned to the Doctor. "First, explain how you met her."

So the Doctor did. From the weeping angels to Martha and to me.

She hesitated. "I'll go to my office first, and think about the offer." She begun to walk away. Then, she stopped. "The only reason I'm considering this offer is because you've changed, Doctor. Different form your previous regeneration. Less selfish." Then she stomped away.

"We'll be waiting in the TARDIS," He called after her.

Once she left, he sighed. "Poor Joan..." Then he turned to me. "Come on." I followed him back to the TARDIS.
