/\/\ Alright, everyone! Here's my interview with Vechs! I...ugh...I did not like having to type all of your questions into the Reddit message, but I'm just happy that I got to do this. I loved reading all of Vechs' answers to these questions because some of them are, like, totes max derpyness. :3 I posted it on here because I don't have my own website for this type of stuff, but anyways, I hope you all enjoy reading my interview with Vechs! /\/\
(General Minecraft Questions)
1.) How did you discover Minecraft? I honestly don't remember exactly how, I heard the name of the game mentioned, and I just googled it.
2.) How did you come up with the name, "Vechs?" I used to use the name "Vex" but that name isn't good enough for many games / services because it's only 3 characters long.
3.) What kept bringing you back to the game? Fan reactions and videos to my maps, seeing people fall into traps never gets old.
4.) What do you like most about this game? Surviving and building a cool base for yourself. That feeling of conquering the environment.
5.) What would you change about and/or add to the game? Better and bigger natural random dungeons. More weapon types or at least better melee combat that isn't just clicking. Ring and necklace slots would be nice to, to maybe have jewelry enchanted with jump, speed, regen, nightvision, etc. Would make gold more useful too.
(Minecraft Mapping Questions)
1.) What got you into mapping? The Map forum. I got tired of all the low-effort copy & paste survival island clones, and I felt something like "Instead of complaining about it, DO something about it, and make a better "survival island".
2.) About how often do you come out with a new map? Ummm. It's a hobby, and this sounds so rude to say, but please don't take it that way: "When I feel like it."
3.) About how long does it usually take you to complete a map? About one to three months, maybe more if I hit a snag.
4.) How do you think you have improved and/or changed over your map making experience? I make terrain much faster now. I'm better at visualizing areas and getting things done a little more efficiently.
5.) How do you compare your maps to other Minecraft maps? I really don't play or view that many other Minecraft maps. I don't want to risk seeing something and then even accidentally copying it. It's best if I just stay in a bubble.
6.) How do you compare your map making process to other mapmakers' processes? Ditto!
7.) Did you come up with the CTM concept? If not, then where did you get the idea from? CTM is my creation :D
8.) How often do you work on your maps? When I'm in that specific creative mood... it's like craving a certain food. Just something you wake up one day and want to do.
9.) What advice would you give to people that wanted to start creating their own Minecraft maps? Make something that is fun for you or a close friend. Don't worry about anything else.
(YouTube Related Questions)
1.) Did you ever imagine yourself doing anything like this as a full-time job? Nope, never! Hell, that type of job didn't exist really, when I was in highschool.
2.) Did you ever imagine yourself getting this popular on YouTube? No way, never.
3.) What type of content could your fans be expecting from you in the future? UHC Season 18 :P
