If I could stop this moment right now, step out and just take in the scenario, I would've thought we were filming for a Rated- R Freak Show.A pale, lanky boy in his knees cradling one hand where blood was oozing freely, laughing and sobbing hysterically. One girl hanging upside down, a layer of white cloth covering her like a spider's web. And another girl, slumped on the ground, one hand holding fried chicken and her mouth open, clearly showing bits and pieces of chewed chicken. And lastly there's little old me, looking back and forth frantically between the 3 trying to decide which to help first.
Yep, I'm definitely on a low-budget freak show here.
Maybe we should back up a bit. I'm sure you're wondering what the hell's happening right now.
Well, my dear it all started on this horrible, unforgiving day. The day where all monsters rise and seek havoc on humanity. The day, children hide under blankets and adults run in fear of the inevitable.
The day I call... Monday.
------
The day started out normal enough. Atleast as normal as it can be given our... situation.
"Oy, Niko. Ano, tutunganga ka nalang ba diyan? Sayang ang oras", tinapik ni Jaz ang balikat ko.
"Let's go," saad naman ni Tami habang tinatali ang buhok sabay lakad palabas. By the way, these two devils are my best friends.
Sierra Jasmine Riezo, a.k.a Jaz was the shortest among us three. She regularly wore dresses and clothes that would've made you think of her as shy and sweet, add in her straight black hair that ends just above her shoulder blades and you would've mistaken her as a doll. But don't let her appearance fool you, she's trained in martial arts and could roundhouse kick you all the way to Pluto while applying make-up.
Tamara Camille Delara or Tami for short was the exact opposite of Jaz, both in appearances and personalities. She had wavy light brown hair that always curled at the end and typically wore sweatpants and tshirts. Unlike Jaz who lives for attention, she would rather stay behind the scenes and just watch everything around her.
And then there's boring ol' me. Nikolaj Gabriel Weschler, or as I like to call myself, "He-Who-Is-Invisible". I wasn't really ugly, by society's standards, I mean but I also didn't have Jaz's shining personality or Tami's cold and calculating looks that made them popular among the crowd, especially on campus. I had messy dark brown hair, almost looking black. I wasn't built but I had muscles. Over-all I was normal-looking , which is probably why I never attracted as much attention as both of them.
Getting back on track, I'm sure you've realized na nagli-live in kaming tatlo. I know it sounds weird and all, I mean isang lalake, at dalawang babae, but actually masaya naman. Kahit may mga panahon na ang sarap nilang tadyakin dahil palaging nang-iiwan ng kalat sa kusina tapos ang tagal maligo, pero other than that, okay lang sila.
Kung bakit kami nakatira sa iisang bahay? Well... You'll find out soon enough.
Anyway after a few minutes of driving,( Salamat sa Diyos at si Jaz ang nagmaneho kaya hindi pa nawala ang kaluluwa ko), nakarating na kami sa University. We got out of the car and said our goodbyes, then started walking to the different buildings that housed our classes.
