"He's leaving tomorrow, and I think it's time we talk alone."
I was dressing myself after spending the whole day with Nathan. He lays naked in bed, only the bedsheet covering his torso.
"But, you'll never see him again," he says nonchalantly.
"That's just it," I say. "If we don't lay down the cards, we may not see each other for another ten years. He's very special to me, and I don't want to lose our friendship."
I slip on the other sock, and get off the bed. Only to be quickly pulled back onto the bed. Letting out a loud laugh, Nathan traps me under him. He attacks me with kisses as his hands roam under my sundress.
"Babe!" I let out under my breath. "N-Nathan!"
As his hand feel between my thighs, Nathan's lips leave a dark bite on one of my breasts. Making it noticable to see. Once he was done, he moves down to where I needed his mouth the most. Hitching up the sundress and spreading my legs, I felt his teasing tongue against my wetness. The rest was exceptionally just for the both of us.
One hour later, I'm waiting in Café Azul drinking my second cup of iced green tea. Alex was suppose to be here five minutes ago.
"Your boyfriend's not with you?" A voice speaks from behind me.
I turn on my seat to meet Alex's eyes. I shake my head. "Just you and I," I say quietly.
Alex takes the empty seat in front of me. "So, what is it you want to talk about?"
I take a deep breath. "About us . . . about everything."
"Like why you've been avoiding me. Giving me the cold shoulder," he points out.
I nod sheepishly. " That. And about eleven years ago."
Alex perks a brow up. "Eleven years ago?"
Taking a deep breath, I say, "I liked you Alex. That night when you told me you were leaving to London, I was going to confess my feelings towards you. I've written a letter and was planning to give it to you. But . . . but you broke my heart. Without knowing it."
I lower my head to hide the embarrassment. The chair moves across the floor and Alex levels himself in front of me. He pinches my chin and tilts it, so we see eye to eye. Alex's ocean eyes gleam with the setting sun. He takes a set of curls and places them behind my ear. He smiles softly.
"It broke my heart to leave you. Vera, you were my first love. I wanted to tell you, but was afraid to ruin our friendship."
A sigh escapes my lips. "Maybe it wasn't meant to be."
"Maybe. But it won't change our friendship."
He takes a seat again and drinks some of the iced coffee. "I'm glad you're with a guy like Nathan. Might not liked him at first, but I know he'll take good care of you. And if he didn't, I had him know for sure."
I laugh throwing my head back. "You haven't changed at all. So, which museum shall we go to?"
