From the moment she first entered my store, I knew she was the woman I wanted to marry. She was the woman I wanted to have by my side for the rest of my life and she was the woman whose happiness would be the most precious to me. The store was just a small room, but from the moment she entered, it felt like I was far too far from her.

In the beginning she didn't even notice me. She had immediately dropped her eyes on the light pink ground-covering roses that I had placed next to the counter. As she approached the flowers, I admired her appearance. Her beautiful curly, brown hair that reached her shoulders, the black boots she was wearing with her beautiful red dress. The top of the dress was buttoned at the back and the sleeves came halfway to her forearm. The skirt covered her lower legs to a large extent, but as soon as she walked to the roses, I could see the shape of her legs cut through the fabric of her clothes.
She bent down and smelled the flour. She still did not realize that I was standing by the dahlias, doubtful if I would approach her. I did it anyway. As I approached her, I thought of different ways of addressing her.
"May I ask you something?"
I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I didn't realize that the woman had noticed me. She had stood up straight, her back still facing me.
"Of course. What can I do for you?"
The woman turned to me. For the first time I could look into her eyes. They were beautiful. Her iris had a deep brown edge, the middle circle had a light brown color and the deep brown color repeated around her pupil. I could stare into them endlessly.
"I wondered what these flowers are called. They smell so good."
I pulled one out of the bucket and gave it to her.
"This is a Rosa 'New Dawn'. She is one of the many types of ground-covering roses."

I moved closer and showed her the leaves.
"She has many beautiful leaves that give off a deep, full rose scent. The scent of these roses always reminds me of my mother's perfume."
The woman once again smelled the flower.
"It smells great."
"I totally agree, ma'am," I said, keeping my smile as normal as possible. It was very difficult not to smile too hard if I could look at such a beautiful woman and had the honor of having a conversation with her.
"Call me Nancy." Nancy. I had never thought about that name before.
"Nancy," I repeated, "my name is Tom."
"Nice to meet you, Tom."
She held her hand forward. I took it and shook it.
"The pleasure is mine, miss." I broke eye contact by looking around the store.
"Tell me, what can I do to help you?" I looked her in her eyes again.
"Actually, I was just curious about what this flower shop would look like from the inside. I walk past it almost every day when I get bread, but I never dare to step inside." I looked at her in surprise.
"You did not dare to step in? Why the fear?"
"Trying out new things gives me a lot of tension. I prefer to get away from it whenever possible."
"May I ask why you went inside today?" Nancy nodded.
"I looked through the window and saw a friendly-looking man putting flowers next to the counter. Immediately I felt the urge to have a conversation with him."
"Oh?"

I was silent for a moment. What should I say to this? How nice to hear. I had the same with you?
Fortunately, Nancy continued.
"I myself am terribly bad at making social contacts. I pretended that I had not seen you yet, hoping that you would address me. I am so glad that you did."
I felt that I wanted to tell her everything. The first thing I thought when I saw her, my raging thoughts when I walked over to her, but I didn't.
"To be honest, I had quite a hard time starting a conversation with you, Nancy.
"She looked straight into my eyes. It seemed like she was waiting for the words:
It is not that I see such a beautiful lady in my flower shop every day.

I didn't pronounce them. I wanted to, but I couldn't. Instead, I told her that I thought it was interesting that when she entered the shop, she immediately walked up to my favorite flower.
