Today, was the day. After you two broke up you went to London for an exchange year. You needed to leave Toronto and it was a good decision you made. New friends, new funny memories which you have made there.
People didn't know exactly who Shawn's Ex Girlfriend was. They knew he was with someone, but my face never got revealed. I bought tickets next to the B-Stage, everything was beautiful. Honestly, I'm so proud of him.
The show started with Lost in Japan and I loved how everyone sung with him, including me. Lights were going off, so I ran like the other girl's to the B-Stage. It felt amazing when he arrived and it was cute how he tried to say "thank you", to his fans. Suddenly, his eyes met mine and for a short moment I could see the happiness in his eyes. We haven't talked since March, but I constantly shared my support. I still love him, but we both needed to break up. We were drowning.
My eyes scanned his face. He looked more grown up, he gained more muscles and his shirt fitted him perfectly.
After "Life of the party", he started to talk.
"You guys know the next song is really special for me. When you love someone that much, you're willing to wait for this person forever,"
Everyone screamed, but his eyes searched mine. As he found me again in the crowd I gave him a quick smile.
"Even ten years from now If you haven't found somebody I promise, I'll be around,"
before the transition to ruin, he gave Jake a sign to my direction. Jake quickly came to me and brought me to his dressing room. People were looking at me and I felt so weird.
"There's our girlllll!" Teddy ran into my arms.
"I missed you so much, how are you?"
"I'm good, but you have to talk with our boy which is right now looking at us," with this she left the room and Shawn thanked to his whole team before he entered the room.
"Uhm, hey, did you like the show?"he shyly asked.
"Yes, you were amazing. I enjoyed it,"
"And what are you doing now? I heard you were doing an exchange year," This conversation was more than weird, like, we are still good together but at the same time we don't want to rush things.
"Shawn, let me fix this. I still miss you and I'm so proud of you. My exchange year is great, it's really funny and I'm doing good," I said.
"It makes me happy to hear that you're doing well,"
It was so good to see him again. His third album was a huge success for him. I always tried to watch his performances. He got better and better.
The silence between us was pleasant, but my phone disrupted us. It was Ryan, a young law student who I met through friends. He was handsome, kind and funny, but I like him only as a friend.
"Ryan, what's up?"
"Oh, don't worry about me. You don't have to wait for me , yeah.. I know. Ryan, I'm fine till Monday. Bye,"
Before the show started I told Ryan that he should pick me up. Some hours ago everything was different. Shawn hurtful glared at me.
"It's your private life, but who's Ryan?" Shawn asks you.
"Ryan is a good friend. Nothing more,"
"It sounded not like that. He waited for you that long. I mean you can tell me the truth,"
What was going on with him? It's been almost a year since our break up and I'm not ready yet. He knows that too.
"Ryan is a good friend. We're not together and I'm not ready yet for a new relationship, but what about you? Have you found somebody else?"
"No, no. I'm too focused on my career right now,"
And how he was. Shawn was so busy and it changed him but in a good way. He is still the same humble boy and this is what you love about him.
"Shawn? Would you like it if we go out? I mean not a date, but argh I think you know what I mean, right?"
He just giggled. You were never good with these kind of questions.
"I would be honored. Let me change my clothes and then you can show me London a little bit, okay?"
"This sounds amazing. I will wait for you when you're ready," you said. Shawn just smiled and after he went to change his clothes, you realized what you just said to him.
And yes, you were happy to see him and talk with him again.
You would wait for him till he's ready.
