Naya POV

Wow. It was crazy how Kyle just showed up like that. He never does that, and today of all days? I mean I didn't lie to him. It's just that Kyle is so overprotective! If he knew I was working with a boy on this project he would automatically assume the worst and I just don't have time for that today.

I was walking to Starbucks and thinking to myself. Today has just been one crazy day. Hopefully the rest of it goes well. As I turned the corner I saw a group of guys standing in the pathway I was walking on to get to Starbucks. They looked like a bunch of thugs and they were playing dice. I sped up the pace and tried to get by them when someone grabbed my arm. "Damn ma you look good, can I holla at ya?" He said to me. "Umm no I have a boyfriend. But thank you." I said, trying to be polite as all his friends started laughing but we all know disrespectful ass niggas don't take well to rejection. "What your boyfriend got to do with me?" he asked. "He don't allow you to have friends?" "I have enough friends, thank you." I said trying to snatch my arm from his grasp but he held tight. Just then, one of the boys in the group looked at me and said "Let her go bro. That's Kyle's girl." And the dude holding my arm let me go quick. "Damn my fault. I didn't know. Don't tell him please, my fault." He said apologizing. I was confused. How did these guys know Kyle? Kyle is a good guy and he definitely don't hang around these types of assholes. I put my head down and I hurried on my way.

I arrived to the Starbucks at exactly 7 and looked around. I saw Lee in the back bopping his head to whatever he was listening to on his iPod. I walked over and when he looked up and saw me he smile and stood taking the headphones out. What a gentleman, I thought to myself.

"Hey Naya." He said to me. "Hey Lee." We sat down and I took out my laptop. There was an awkward silence between us. "Sooo." he said. "Sooo." I said back laughing. "Sorry. I'm just a little awkward around you." he said looking embarrassed. "Why is that, Lee?" I asked him. "You're just so pretty. They don't have a lot of girls that look like you at my old school." He said. At that I blushed. "Thank you. You're not so bad yourself." I said, flirting.

Fuck it. I like this guy. His smile was gorgeous. I was enjoying his attention. I love Kyle but I definitely feel some way about this dude. I feel guilty even admitting that. I decided to turn the attention back to the project before things got too far. "So let's get back to work." I said to Lee. "Oh, yeah lets." He said laughing.

We worked on our project for the next 20 minutes or so. There wasn't much to the project so we ended up finishing fast. "Well we are done.." I said to him. "Yeah. You in a rush to leave now? Or can I buy you a coffee or sumn?" he asked. I blushed. "Okay I guess that wouldn't hurt." I told him and he went to go order our drinks.

Lee POV

Damn. This girl was so beautiful. I've literally never met someone that looks as good as her. I know I shouldn't have been flirting with this girl I barely know, but how could I not. She seemed to be enjoying it cuz she flirted back. Maybe I'll ask her on a date or something and see where it goes.

As I was thinking about how to ask Nay out, I happened to look up at the door right when my homie Ant walked in talking to some dude I didn't recognize. I don't know many people around here anyway. When Ant saw me he tapped his friend and pointed and said something to him. His friend nodded and they walked over.

"Yoo my nigga wassgud?" Ant said dapping me up. "This my homie Lee. He just came this way from Harlem." Ant said to his friend. "Word. That's wassup. I'm Kyle." His friend said to me dapping me up. "Nice to meet you." I said. "Bro, my homie Lee here plan on trying out for the basketball team at school." Ant said to Kyle. Ant explained that Kyle was captain of the basketball team. "Any homie of Ant's is a friend of mine." Kyle said. "See you at tryouts. I'll put in a good word for you. Just make sure you bring your A-game cuz my team out here to win ya heard?" Kyle said to me. "Don't worry my dude. I always bring my A-game. Just ask Ant bout that crossover I got on his ass earlier." I said laughing. "Bro I told you my shoes was untied." Ant said looking embarrassed as we all laughed.
