"Good Morning mom!" My mother looked up from the paper she was reading. It was probably just some paperwork from her job. Setting down her paper she sighed, stressed from all of the problems of being a single mother.

"Hey Eijirou, what are you planning on doing today? It's going to be beautiful outside." She wasn't lying. Today was supposed to be perfect weather-- sunny and warm. I was rummaging through the pantry, looking for something to eat. There wasn't a ton of food nor was there a lot of ingredients for any sort of healthy breakfasts. With a sigh I turned to look at my mom.

"Well seeing that we need to get some groceries, I should go to the store and get what we need." I scratched the back of my neck, I probably could go out afterwards. It was a Saturday, so I needed to have some time to do my homework. "I'm going to go get ready for the day, do you think you could write a shopping list for me?"

"Alright, love." She was smiling. My mom is the best; always has been and always will be. I quickly started to get ready for the day. I got changed into a grey pair of shorts and one of my favorite red tank tops. The next tedious task was gelling my hair into its spiky glory. I couldn't go out looking like I had just rolled out of bed ten minutes ago-- wait I did roll out of bed probably ten minutes ago. Never mind that, I quickly and carefully brushed my sharp teeth and left our small bathroom. We can't really afford too big of a house due to my mom already working two jobs and babysitting just to pay rent and for our wellbeing. Our table was only big enough to seat three people tops at the moment. It was sitting in our small kitchen along one of the walls under one of the small windows in the room. I hope that one day, I will be able to provide a bigger home for my mom.

If it weren't for my visits, my mom would be completely all alone in this small house. She deserved better than that. She deserved to have a lovely husband or wife to make her happy while I was off protecting the city that we live in. She deserved someone to come home to, to smile at her every morning and kiss her goodbye before they both left to their jobs. I just really wanted my mom to be happy.

I walked back into our kitchen where my mom was just setting down her pen.

"Here you go, please be safe." She hugged me goodbye and pushed me out the door with the sticky note and the family credit card.

All of the birds were chirping this morning, it was like they all were happy to feel the sun shine on them instead of the rainy weather that had been present from the previous week. It seemed that it wasn't only the birds who were happy that everything was free from what felt like the overcast sky's plague. The people from our neighborhood and people from other parts of our city were hustling by me and my house. It seemed as if everything had just come to life. I kept walking along, past the occasional flowery tree.

The store is about a couple of blocks away from our house. It was a quaint little building on the corner of the block. Its crowded sidewalk had puddles due to the previous rain. When I walked into the store Mr. Sato, the store's owner, waved at me.

"Hello Kirishima, how have you and your mother been doing?" He looked very similar to my classmate. I guess I had never thought about the possibility that my classmate's dad was my neighborhood's friendly grocery store owner.

"I've been doing well, my mom is doing alright it seems that work has been getting to her a bit recently though." I wasn't sure if I should ask him if Rikido Sato is his son. I could just ask Sato when I went back to school.
