Present day
Josh was still very much shocked, but has now calmed down at least a little bit. The cries died down, but he was still shaking from the news.
For the past few months, she has been waking up at night in horrifying pain, crying and not being able to breathe normally. She managed to keep it from him, but the pain was becoming unbearable. One night she had her face burried into her pillow, sobbing as quiet as possible, trying not to wake him up. But he heard her. When he saw her in this state, he was just as confused and worried at the same time. Josh had no idea what was going on at first:
,,Izzy, love what's wrong? Why are you crying? Are you okay?" he sad, the confusion slowly transitioning into an aughfully scared tone. She could barely breathe. It took her all the straingh she had left to let out a barely audible sound"
,,It...hurts",,I know my love, I wish I could kiss it away. Just breathe."he sad still not knowing what was going on.
After a few minutes, the ,,attack" she was having earlier was now slowly fading away.
,,How long has this been happening?"he asked as he saw she was feeling better. She didn't respond. She was scared of his reaction.
,,Izzy?"he called, now sitting up strait on the bed they shared.
,,A few months" she sad as she was also sitting up, the feeling of guilt running through her body.,,A few months?! And you didn't tell me?!" he yelled obviously angry at her keeping this from him.
He didn't need to hear anything, sure, he was mad at her, but what was important now, was helping her. He was taking her to the doctor, whether she liked it or not. So the next morning he called the hospital, and set up the appointment for her.
Well, today was the day he took her. And today was the day the doctor broke the bad news to them. She had a rare illnes, and her kidneys were failing. She was dying. And there was no way of helping her.
He couldn't believe it, he wouldn't believe it. As soon as they entered their home he broke down. He didn't know what else to do....
...
The silence filling the room once again, was broken by his phone ringing.
It was Jake. Great, just what he needed.
Obviously, his family knew about the events which ocured, as he was the one that told them.
He hesitated, but eventually picked up the phone.,,Hi bro, how did it go. She okay?"you could hear Jake say on the other side of the line, with the warmth and enthusiasm in his voice.
,,No..."and he started crying again.
She snached the phone out of his hand, knowing that he is not able to communicate at the given moment.
,, Hi Jake" she sad softly.
,,Izzy what's going on?"the anxiety in his voice grew bigger and bigger.
,,Jake.. I'm dying"she signed.
,, We're coming."and before she got the chance to reply anything to his previous statement, he hung up the phone.
,,What did he say?"Josh bearly asked in between sobs.
,, They're coming...
Josh, please don't cry." But that made him cry even more... She hugged him, and held him tight as tears started escaping her eyes as well.
