Chapter 4: Rumors

Jennie POV
I'm so happy that Lisa agreed to be friends. I still don't understand these feelings of mine but I hope that I'll understand them soon. "Nini!" Lisa yelled as soon as I walked into class. I blushed and ignored her and walked over to my desk. She has so many people around her and yet she yelled my name. "Lisa stay away from her. She might give you to a gang and you might get hurt" one girl said. "She'll get mad and punch you" said another. I couldn't stand all these rumors. They weren't even true.

Lisa's POV
I was hearing all these things about Jennie that I had never heard before. I was really confused. Where did all of these rumors come from? Are they talking about the same Jennie as I am? "What are you guys talking about? Jennie is like a baby. She stutters when she's nervous. She gets scared during horror movies. She's just like you guys. Where did all these rumors come from?" I decided to ask them. They told me that there were many rumors. There were rumors that she dated girls then broke their hearts in the most cruel way possible. Other rumors said that she belonged to a gang. I look over at Jennie to see her start tearing up. My heart stopped. I had to do something. "JENNIE! COME WITH ME NOW!" I yelled and dragged her with me. I went up to the roof where we talked a couple months ago.

Lisa: "Jennie are you okay?"
Jennie: "Yeah. I'm used to that. There's a lot of rumors about me. "
Lisa: "Are any of them true?"
Jennie: "Of course not. I keep to myself to avoid getting hurt."
Lisa: "So where did those rumors come from?"

She was about to respond when-

*BOOM*

Jennie's POV
Lisa and I turn around to see Rosé and Jisoo panting while telling us to come with them. We followed them all the way to the front of the school where there were posters spreading rumors about me. "I don't understand. Who would do this?" Lisa asked. I didn't blame whoever did it. It may not be true but I do have a lot of enemies because of my attitude. Lisa started tearing them down and I was happy that she cared so much, but everyone started whispering behind us and I didn't want to get her dragged down with me. "L-Lisa! I-it's okay." I told her. I was crying at that point and Lisa saw so she brought me to the infirmary to cool off while Jisoo and Rosé were taking down the posters.

Lisa: "Are you okay Jennie?"
Jennie: "Yeah I'm fine. I know people don't like me."
Lisa: "Why wouldn't they? You're amazing."
Jennie: "Thanks Lisa. You're an amazing friend."

I was so happy that she cared so much about me. But what was this feeling? My heart is racing so fast just because Lisa is next to me. I don't understand these feelings. They make me want to cry but they make me warm and all happy. Was this love? Am I falling for someone? Is that someone Lisa?
