i lived in the city with my mum and dad who were both alcoholics, and my dad had been abusing me a lot for the last couple of monthsand that led to depression not long after.

i was happy as my ausntie from sydney was moving over here, just outside of the city a bit smaller and quiter but still had a bit of city to go onto. she had been told what was going on and had invited me to live with her. i was so happy, because me and her got along really well. her name was lindsay, and shehad short red hair and was very pale. she was weirdly beautiful for someone so slim and with a mix of weird features.

so today was moving day. i pulled my luggage out of my mum and dads house as i locked it behinf me. i didnt look back, i had a aching pain under my left eye, a hit ofcourse. which was causing me pain but knowing that may be my last lunge of my dad. my mum never hurt me physically. they both had roles. my dad was the one who caused me physical damage and my mum caused me emotional damage.

i stood on the plat form waiting for my train after a short walk down town, as they called out the train number as it arrived. i smiled at the train, knowing this was my escape. thank god. i got inside and sat myself down, i pulled out my book and started to read as the windows passed my old memories, as i left the city life of melbourn.

i got coffee and held it inbetween my hands, as i admired my view from the train, i must have dozed off for a while when i heard the train stop and the announcer saying it was time to exit.

i climbed out of the door with my suitcase following me, it was so hot. it felt hotter than the other side of melbourn, as i realised i couldn't take off my over hanging baggy jumper because of my scars and cuts. i grabbed another coffee and carried it whilst walking through the station searching for lindsay.

i quickly rushed along, not looking where i was going as i bumped into an older lady with her hair just below her shoulder as my coffee spat all over my wrist as the burns and liquid sank into my cuts as i screamed.

"oh my god, I'm so sorry." the lady said as she helped me up

she quickly grabbed some tissues from her pocket , as she lifted up my sleeves her eyes widened at her sight. she cloesed her eyes as she tried cleaing up the coffee.

"i'm gina. i'm so sorry!"

i smiled at her

"it's fine. I'm April." i said still kind of pain. " and this on your arms" she said pointing to my cuts. "please stop your young. are you going to be ok? its only becuase i have three sons in the house andthey cannot be trusted alone." she laughed, as she swung her bag back around onto her back.

"yes thank you."

"sorry again."

" its honestly fine." i said as she smiled before walking past me

i pulled my luggage along a bit further.

then i saw my auntie. her hair had grown alot since i last saw her.i started to run as she saw me and ran along to greet me too. i let go of my case, and ran into her arms, as my head fell into her shoulder as she kissed my forehead.

"i've missed you so much ." she said hugging me.

" me too"

she pulled away examining my face as she saw the bruise. "april? oh, your safe now
