It was March 31, 2016. Robert first experienced his wife cheating on him. Of course he stayed...Robert always stays, always forgives, and always forgets. He and Angela has only been married for five years but ever since she began cheating it felt like a million years for Robert. Robert was a 32 year old man, he taught at North Brewington high as a math teacher and would come home everyday at approximately 7 o'clock, so Angela always knew what time she had to have her dirty men out of the house as if Robert hadn't known. But Robert and Angela both knew how that would end.
"Baby I'm sorry."
"What's wrong with me ?"
"Please stay, I forgive you !"
Robert always apologizes for Angela's wrong doings.
Until the stormy day of December 10, 2018. The school demanded that nobody shall stay after school because the storm had been so severe, so as the good man Robert was...he went home. Angela just insisted that Robert would be home at 7....but not today.
In the back of Roberts mind he knew that Angela had someone in his bed at this very moment, but he denied it anyway. Robert grew up watching his father bring countless women in and out of the house while his mother knew and didn't do anything. She couldn't...she wouldn't. So she popped pills and sparked blunts.
Robert made it home when he noticed something wasn't quite right. Someone's wingtip dress shoes and tommy holdover shirt was lying on the floor at the end of the stairs. He heard a soft moan and the sounds of a creaking bed.
"No", Robert thought. "She said she'd never do it again." . Robert followed the noise up the stairs and to his bedroom where he found his wife and neighbor in the bed together, naked under the sheets.
Robert and Angela locked eyes and stared at eachother as tears flowed down Roberts face and sweat flowed down hers....Robert left.
Robert say on the couch as Angela and the neighbor stayed upstairs, doing god knows what. There was Robert, eyes red as blood, and the stench of alcohol lingering around his body. Robert always feared that he'd become like his father, but as he continued to think, he realized he was his mother. And in an instant, Robert ran to the kitchen and opened his drawer that held his gun.
"Why, why, why !"
Robert repeated to himself. It was all too much, too late, the depression and anger made Robert mad. It was insanity, and he wanted was for the pain to end. He wanted to be free.
Robert held the gun to his head....Boom
