-Brooks-
Soon as Charlie saw me entering the room, he ran up to me and dragged me upstairs, leaving the pounding music to slowly fade until I could clearly hear him.
"What's going on," I asked throughout the tune of Gotta Get It.
"Truth or dare," he explained, turning into a loft where some guys from school sat in a circle with popular girls. Mostly, it was the varsity teams and cheerleaders from school--soccer, football, basketball...
There sat Kendall, the football captain, and Terry, his cheer captain girlfriend, seated in his lap. The other guys were irrelevant.
"Brooks!"
"Huh?" I turned and faced a girl with dyed blonde hair in a high ponytail, eyes blue due to the contacts she had put in. Terry's right hand woman, aka my ex-girlfriend, Genesis.
"Sit right here," she patted the open area right next to her with a flirtatious smile, as if there were a million things we could do right then and there that should be in the bedroom with people who weren't, you know, teenagers. Of course, I shamelessly looked around for an area to sit, but everyone had decided to fill every other space open. Assholes, I thought to myself.
I slowly took residence in the open lot before watching as Charlie pulled a near empty bottle of tequila from behind his back; out of the corner of my eyes, I could see a guy named James pull out a flask as Kendall turned his back. When we were all ready, Kendall having finished the last of the alcoholic beverage, he placed the bottle in the middle and looked around at everyone.
"How are we gonna choose?"
"How about we all do Rock, Paper, Scissors and whoever wins goes first, and from there, whoever it lands on, goes next?"
Everyone nodded in agreement, whether they were to lazy to suggest otherwise, or too afraid to.
I was too lazy, I decided.
"Alright," Kendall scooted up and got comfortable, gesturing for everyone else to do the same--otherwise you could fall off a cliff for all he cared. "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Shoot!"
Since the majority was divided between rocks and scissors, the portions labeled scissors put their hands down.
I was a part of that majority.
Then the paper people went again and Terry ended up going. She ended up landing on Charlie, who she got to date to lick Freddy's toes, and steal a kiss from a lucky lady downstairs, which Freddy recorded to show the rest of us.
"Let go of me!"
We all turned to the doorway to see a girl with dark hair covering most of her somewhat pale face as she struggled.
"I don't want to sleep with you, you asshole! Lemme go! Are you deaf?!"
Something nagged at me to go help this D.I.D.--damsel in distress. Of course they'd want to be saved, my conscience snapped.
But only by the best, I remembered Kendall saying at one point.
"Let me -"
George slammed the door shut and took his seat back at the circle.
"Kendall," I start.
"Shut up, Brooks. Let it go; she came to this party knowing full well what she was going to get into if she came." It was Charlie's turn to spin the bottle. It landed on Terry, and he dared her to kiss me--an obvious move. Charlie had been trying to re-hook us up since I ended things.
Terry let lazy smirk slink its way onto her face as she tries to seductively crawl to me, though we were no more than 5 meters away from each other.
The door bursts open to reveal the dark haired girl, the guy who'd been trying to escort her laying on the floor in the hallway. "Does anyone have a phone I can borrow," she asked.
"No," everyone chorused.
"If you play a round, you can borrow mine," Kendall smirked, and she rolled her eyes and pushed a guy backwards in order to sit on the circle. My eyes followed her as she watched Terry glare at her.
The circle, in fact, let their gaze waver, drifting from the guy in the hallway to her.
"What are you waiting for? Theres a game in play, isn't there? I've got things to do," she hissed in irritation.
"What's your name, doll face?" Kendall went into flirt-mode.
Still, it was undeniable that this girl is pretty--dark hair and green eyes that seemed to glow like a cats...
"Taylor," she muttered. "Andy Taylor."
"Can I get my turn over with," Genesis declared, arms crossed with her lips in a pout.
"Hey, hey," Kendall shot a cool glare at her. "Let out new guest have a turn."
I breathed out a sigh of relief none too discreetly as the girl took hold of the bottle and spun it. Her turn passed and she got Kendall's phone, going into the hall to go call whoever she was going to call. Kendall whispered into Dave's ear before Dave nodded and twirled the bottle. It landed on me, and so, I answered dare. Kendall whispered in Dave's ear once again.
"I dare you, to make the girl fall in love with you."
The door opens and the room falls suspiciously quiet.
"I... I'm done. Thank you," she handed Kendall his phone.
I stared at her. Straightened brown hair, hazel eyes, and tall figure. What was her name again?
I couldn't even remember her name, yet I was supposed to make her fall for me.
"It's quiet... so I'm just gonna..." Her eyes zipped from person to person before she backed out of the room. "Bye!"
