I can't believe it..

You always wore that same, pretty smile. Every day, you would venture forth into the cold-blooded world and seemingly make it brighter. At least, that's what those around you thought. Whenever they would see you smile, they would always wonder: "How could she possibly smile like that every day?"

Truth be told, there was something hidden within that smile of yours. Something that only one person knew: Katsuki Bakugo. He had come across it only once, and he had never forgotten that secret that you hid behind those beautifully pink, upturned lips. How could he ever forget? The memory itself was something that would haunt his mind forever.

Bakugo stared at the small screen of his phone, the dim light illuminating his face in the dark classroom. The words upon his screen read:

"Message sent: 11:34 AM, October 1st, 2017."

"Hey, (Name). I'm just a little concerned that you haven't shown up for class since Monday. I'm going to come over to your house and check up on you later, okay? I hope you don't mind."

The blonde-haired boy sighed deeply and hung his head, his phone slowly dimming into nothingness.

"I miss you, (Name). I remember sitting in this very classroom with you, only a week before what happened. A lot has changed since then, both in the world, and with me. If you could see me now, there's no doubt you'd scold me. But... you wouldn't hate me at all. You could never hate anyone."

A miniscule smile formed upon Bakugo's lips, and he turned his attention to the outside world, his view following several drops of rain as they wiggled their way down the windows of his old school.

"You'd scold me for being here after school hours. You'd completely ignore the people I've hurt, and the horrible things I've done. And then, once you were done scolding me, you'd gently hit my forehead and give me one of those smiles of yours..."

Bakugo's eyes drifted to the front chalkboard, where the current date was written in large font across the left side. It read: "October 1st, 2018."

The blonde-haired boy slowly rose to his feet, and then wandered through the rows of wooden desks. He stopped at one in particular: the desk in the very back right corner. He sighed and tenderly ran his fingertips along the smooth wood, a vivid image of you appearing in his mind.

"You always sat right here. Even though a lot of people loved you, you were very shy around others. You used to freak out if the teacher called on you, and I would always reassure you that you'd do just fine solving that math problem on the board."

Bakugo looked at his phone once again, another heavy sigh leaving his lips as he re-read the message he had sent that day. He skipped to the next message he sent, which was sent on (your birthday). It read:

"Happy birthday, (Name)."

His thumb slowly ran upwards along the screen, and he read through each message he sent; one every week. He finally stopped at the one he sent last week:

"I hope you can forgive me, (Name). Just... for everything that I've ever done."

He sighed quietly and shoved his phone into his pocket, then walked over to the door that led into the classroom. He opened it slowly, gave one last glance over his shoulder at the empty classroom, and then walked off down the hallway.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This used to be where me, you, and Kirishima hung out the most."
Bakugo scanned the empty room with his eyes, your old posters still hung firmly on the wall, and all your books still neatly organized on the shelves of your bookcase. Your bed was neatly made, just as it always was; he remembered that you hated your room being dirty.
He sighed deeply, and very slowly took a seat upon your bed. He didn't want to disturb anything in the room, but he wanted to at least remember what it was like to sit upon your bed once again. He wanted to relive all of those memories that he shared with you and Kirishima.
"You would lecture Kirishima and I in here. I remember when I asked you if you would tutor us; you said that we were being lazy bums, but that you'd help us anyway. That was you, (Name). You would never say no to anyone in need of genuine help."
He looked to his right, noticing the small bathroom that was within your room. He remembered how excited you were when your parents told you that your room would come fitted with your own bathroom; even though you had no younger siblings, you wished to have your own bathroom instead of the one that was out in the hallway of your old home. However, he couldn't look at that bathroom for longer than a few seconds. He had seen a lot of things in his life already, but there was nothing in the world that could possibly be more painful than the image that entered his mind when he looked into that bathroom.
His hand brushed against your favorite stuffed animal, and he sighed deeply as he picked it up and looked over it.
"You always loved this little guy. You would smile to all hell whenever you saw him when we first came into your room to let you tutor us."
He held the stuffed toy to his chest, his gaze dropping to the floor.
"You were always smiling, (Name). There was never a moment I didn't see you smiling."
He slowly rose to his feet, and very hesitantly made his way over to the bathroom door. His fingertips gently pushed against the wood, opening it all the way to reveal the entirety of the bathroom to him. He looked around at the walls, now repainted since the last time he had been there a year ago. The floors had also been cleaned, along with the mirror, and the sink.
Those white floors and walls weren't that color, one year ago. On this very day, Katsuki Bakugo would look into your face for the very last time.
His fingers gripped the phone he pulled from his pocket, and he slowly thumbed down his final text message to your phone number.
"Through all those smiles, and all those laughs, no one could see the pain you were in. No one knew the darkness you suffered. You were always concerned and caring about other people, but no one even cared enough to ask how you were doing. Not even Kirishima or I. But:
Never did I think I would hold you in my arms after you had taken your own life."
