"An intelligent hell would be better than a stupid paradise." - Victor Hugo
Violet's P O V
Without a second, a hard wind busted me and pushed me away in the lamp, extending my tail so I could get out of my home, my sweet home. I can't see a thing. Only a tornado being my wing, I could see my hair turning black, before it was brunette. Did I forget to tell you that I have a special hair? I have black and brunette.I know it sucks because most of the people had this as their common color, but it's not all about the color. It's all about the warninga. If it has brunette, I'm in a normal life. If it turns black and loses the highlights, things are not meant to be. It's quite complicated since I'm a Genie. Hair is actually my precious beauty. I couldn't stand having a 'bad hair day'. I look ridiculous.
One hour had passed. I could already see Gene all the way IN here inside the tornado. But the Tornado just passed by. I was wondering why it didn’t land to my required destination. I tried getting out of it; maybe the tornado had no Idea where I must be going. But then it wounded me. The tornado kept me inside of it, making me its fetus. I screamed so hard and loud like the loudest and hardest knock I did earlier. And then I remembered Queen Natasha. Maybe she didn't hear me.
"I pray to you, Queen Natasha, plea---"
The tornado interrupted my prayer, it landed me in a smoothed-cement floor that I couldn't say "This is Gene." It was golden and slippery. Everything was made of Gold. I stood there and started to wonder things like "where am I?" or "What is this place?" questions. It's so bright like you were standing right in front of the sun, but this is GOLD. A golden brightness is a very specific thing. But I've never been in this place before, like Alice. If she's so innocent being in Wonderland, So am I, being a stupid explorer in Golden Land. But things are getting worse if I only rely on wonders. I walked slowly and silently, but the sound of my steps was echoing over the golden palace. I reached the final edge of it, became brighter than ever. It was a golden portal shining like a sun. This might be the secret passageway to Gene. No other portals were much golden like this in Gene. The portal was made of golden diamonds that were in a clamp. This is the kind of door a man had always wanted.
I was getting impatient. My conscience was divided into several commands. DO and DON’T enter. The reason I wanted to enter is because I’m dying to see what lies beyond the mysterious door. But I know this isn’t Gene. But even though this isn’t, I can’t just stay here and wait. No other portals were in here. On the other hand, I DON’T want to go there because I am not sure if it’s safe or not. Gold is money, and for a Genie, money is DEATH. Money is the reason a person would go murder or sometimes steal. So here I am, having a choice. This is something in common with the “Who wants to be a millionaire?” game. You’re picking a choice. You would die if you chose the wrong answer in your head because of Gold, in mine, you’re gonna continue with the gold or run away, but even if you do, you have nowhere to run. You’re choosing death. I am choosing it. I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere. If I could just pray another time to the Queen, but maybe if I pray AGAIN she’ll make my situation worse. The more I pray, the more I get to wonder. But the only thing I wonder is that---“Why is she doing this?”
I sighed.
"Just like old times, a Genie like me will never find happiness." I yelled at myself, very bitter of not having the intelligence to choose wheter I'll enter or not. But for the mean time, I'll choose the "DON'T" first.
I sat in the ground, waiting for a miracle to arrive. Until I saw how the place changed.
The golden walls bagen to vanish and mirrors appeared. It was something VERY unusual. I stood up again, walked directly in the mirrors, and saw---myself.
