Dancing Dreams

~ Chapter 1 ~

Flippa Brennan twirled, jumped up, and landed in a split. She stood up and made a wave go up her arms and through her body.

Tonight will last forever, 'til our bodies drop....

She smiled as she heard her friends cheering for her. Then she hit the the floor and did the Worm.

It was in the boy's gym of the Watkins Glen Middle School, and the DJ had the speakers cranked up with a song called Young Forever, by the Ready Set.

Almost everyone at the dance was crowding around her in a circle, scrutinizing all of her moves and cheering. Once in a while, she would do something awesome and people would start yelling.

We can turn the speakers up,

Cause we've got sound, and that's enough.

Nobody can touch us,

Flippa did a handstand and let her feet fall forward until they hit the floor. She was in a Bridge. Then she kicked her feet over and landed in a lunge. She did a one-handed cartwheel and ended with a round off. She did the Moonwalk, went into a handstand, and landed on her bottom, just like Jason DeRulo did; 2 minutes and 54 seconds into his Official Music Video of Don't Wanna Go Home. The song was finished just as she landed. A perfect ending. She was getting better.

As she picked herself up off the floor, the crowd dispersed, and her friends ran to greet her. Kalista, Flippa's cousin, was the first to say something.

"Oh... Em... Gee. That was awesome!! So that's what you've been working on at home?!"

"Was that the surprise?" asked Flippa's BFF, Jennifer Host.

"Yes to both questions." replied Flippa, and then Turn Up the Music came on, by Chris Brown. "Ooooo, this is my favorite song! I'll answer your questions later!" cried Flippa.

She danced, but not like before. She didn't have a routine to go with this song, so she just moved her body, not really caring what she looked like.

All to soon, the song was done. She and her friends left the gym and bought soda, candy bars, and pizza. Flippa and her sister, Emily, didn't drink soda, so Flippa filled two glasses from the water fountain instead. They stood around talking as Logan and Noah came over, with Caden, Ryan, Brian and Jayden trailing after them.

Logan was a smallish boy with long, blonde, pulled back under a bandana and glasses. Noah was a little taller than Flippa, and had short, brown hair and braces. Jayden was short and had short, light brown hair. Brian was tall, and had curly, bleach-blonde hair, with braces. Ryan was as tall as Fippa, had braces, and short, brown hair, and Caden was way taller than her, and had short, brown hair.

"That was awesome!" cried Noah.

"Not bad!" said Logan, as Ryan said, "Do it again!"

"Cool." said Jayden, and Caden and Brian grinned at her, showing all their braces.

She smiled back at all of them, and said, "Thanks!"

"Did you learn to do that over the summer?!" asked Talia with wide eyes.
