TRIS P.O.V:
I wake up to the sound of my brother yelling at my parents. My family doesn't get along and my parents are sort of strict, but as long as I got my headphones then I don't care. I brush my teeth, do my hair in a high ponytail, and pick out skinny jeans and big sweater since it's the middle of September and walk downstairs.
"Hey mom." I say as a take an apple. "I'm going to be home a little late. I've got a study group meeting."
"What time will you be home?"
"Ummmm maybe 9, because we are getting dinner afterwards."
"Okay but text me to tell me where you are."
"I always do. I'm gonna be late, bye momma"
"Bye Beatrice."
I take the bus to school. Since it's the start of junior year I didn't take my divers test yet. The people on the bus yell and scream and shout. We make our last stop at Four's house. He's a player. Everyday you can catch him making out with someone new, but I honestly don't care. It's not my business.
"Yo Zeke!" Four shouts across the bus. "Sit up here today." he sat in the seat across from me and I kept looking out the window. "Oh look it's my best friend.... Beatrice right?"
"Tris." I say and roll my eyes.
"Right .... right." Zeke moves up and sits next to Four. They start talking really loud and I get a major headache. When the bus stops I immediately get up and run off.
TIME LAPSE (MIDDLE OF SCHOOL)
"Hey Chris."
"Tris you're coming to the party tonight right?"
"I guess so but I mean I told my mom I would be home by 9. Won't it look bad if I leave early?"
"It's fine. No one will care. Oh I forgot to tell you. Shauna and Marlene are brining dates."
"Dates? Who with?"
"Uriah and Zeke."
"Does that mean Four is coming too?" I whine
"He won't even talk to us. A calm down."
I hear loudness down the hall which means Four Uriah and Zeke. I turn to see Marlene and Shauna with them too. They walk toward us and I open my locker to start putting I'm my books.
"Hey guys." Marlene squeaked. "You guys coming to the party?"
"Umm ya we are." I said still not looking at them.
"Tris, you wanna go with me? To the party?" I turn to see that Four said that. I'm surprised. I didn't expect him to ask but boys don't really get me nervous or shaky and it's just one night.
"Sure why not." I smile at him. "See ya guys there." and with that I walked away. I'm not really the obsessing over boys type. I learned at a young age that if you don't feel, you don't get hurt.
