"...and in the end, what are we but exploded stars."

Tick.

"Chill. Out. You can be such a downer sometimes, you know that?"

Tock.

Rory was having trouble attempting to talk about her existential crisis with Fenmor. The girl was much too happy about everything for her brooding self to relate properly with. Not to mention the fact that this girl was most likely so excited about this.

Tick.

"Rory, I am so excited about this!"

Tock.

"Aaaand here she goes."

Tick

Kaiser sighed from the front of the ship. The spacecraft wobbled suddenly at Kaiser's loss of concentration. He was incredibly awful at manning the controls, but mostly just because it was built for a team, so he had to run around frantically 24/7 to actually reach them all. It was a rough life, being only a single person that refused to share responsibility with others. Everyone cringed in preparation of the unavoidable and loud rant that was up and coming.

Tock.

"You've already said this like 20 times! Here, I'll spare you the burden of repeating your speech yet again!"

Tick.

"'Oh, I'm Fenmor and I get so excited about everything, especially getting transported out of my space time and into a ship with a bunch of other teenagers-'"

Tock.

"'-and a vague mission from an anonymous source that we basically being forced to do because it seems the only way to not die gruesomely, even though this is-"

Tick.

"-probably most likely basically definitely a suicide mission! Isn't that just swell!'"

Tock.

Kaiser's terrible role playing almost got them killed by a rogue asteroid that he just narrowly avoided whilst distracted by himself. He had his entire body sprawled comically across the control console and had placed spare items on various buttons, dials, and thingamabobbers.

Tick.

"Oh, damnit! I forgot about that one again!" he yelled when the entire contraption shuddered.

Tock.

He snatched the notebook Rory had been scrawling furiously in and tossed it onto what they had pronounced to be the oh-damnit-I-forgot-about-that-one-again button.

Tick.

"Ignorant plebeian," Rory muttered as she carefully switched out her notebook with a burnt and utterly destroyed copy of her favorite BBC Sherlock fanfic. Rest in peace, Johnlock. Rest in peace.

Tock.

Rory observed her crew mates. Most of them had scattered themselves throughout the ship to catch some shut eye, but would soon be rising just in time for the excitement.

Tick.

Kaiser was still scurrying around trying to keep the spacecraft under control, while Fenmor tried to talk to him about feelings or something gushy like that. Poor Kaiser.

Tock.

The guy that doesn't talk sat in a corner and just stared.

Tick.

He showed no emotion. Rory always secretly worried that he had just died and nobody noticed, as he never moved and his emotionless face made him look dead inside. What a creep.

Tock.

Josh snored loudly as he lay face down on the floor. He was most likely drooling. There honestly wasn't much to say about him

Tick.

Kamari seemed to sleep soundly on a pile of sweaters, but Rory knew her well enough to know that her sleep was made to be restless by an abundance of thoughts and worries. She wished that she was awake.

Tock.

She always hated to admit that she was scared, but it was easiest to admit it to Kamari.

Tick.

The time crept nearer.

Tock.

All were silence, as all knew what was coming.

Tick.

Rory put a hand on the sleeping Kamari's shoulder as she fidgeted in her sleep, more to comfort herself than her friend.

Tock.

This moment, the entire point of the mission, was here.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

I single tear rolls out from her left eye and falls to the floor as Kaiser flies the time-bomb of a spaceship into the blazing sun.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tick.

Tick.
