Hey- so I have this problem where I keep writing stories...I figured it was about time that I start publishing this one.
"Jacob, Angie is here, time for dinner!" Jacob's mom called up the stairs. Jacob closed his book and headed down to the dining room."Hi Ang," he said giving her a hug. "Hey baby bro!" She responded.
As they all sat down to eat, Jacob's Mom asked, "So Angie, how's the new job?"
Jacob gave Angie a puzzled look, "What new job?"
"I'm working for a talent management company, it's going well."
Jacob scrunched his face, "Like you have to work with celebrities?"
Angie nodded. "Sort of. I currently have one client that fills my schedule and ya I guess you can say that he is a celebrity."
Jacob rolled his eyes, "I'm not sure how that job could ever be fun, being stuck around pretentious assholes who will only eat a single color of M&Ms."
Angie laughed, "Well luckily I haven't run into that just yet."
"So who is this client, or would you have to kill us if you told us?" Jacob joked.
"Well, actually...I'm glad you asked. You see his name is Troye and he's 18, he's a budding pop star..."
Again Jacob rolled his eyes. "Jake..." Angie sighed, "He's really not bad at all. He's fun and spunky and sort of sweet."
"What do you have to do for this guy?" Jacob asked.
"Well, he's from Australia and doesn't have family here so the team and I, there are three of us, just keep an eye on him."
"Oh so you are basically a babysitter. Angie, you are far too talented for that bullshit," Jacob scoffed.
"Well then, you aren't going to like what I say next, " Angie spoke sternly. "Troye has been homeschooling for years but he is at risk of not graduating because he hasn't kept up on his work, so I need to get him into a school. So we decided on your school and I was hoping you could keep an eye on him for me," Angie said quickly.
"Oh hell NO," Jacob said.
"Jake," Angie whined. "He doesn't even need to know who you are. I told him that my brother attends the same school and he asked your name and I wouldn't tell him. I just need you to like be my eyes as obviously I can't be there. The kid was bullied out of public school when he was younger and he is nervous about going back."
"He's not my problem, Ang."
"I know that Jake, but he is scheduled to pretty much be in all of your classes so I am not asking for a lot."
"UGH! This is absurd." Jacob paused. "If I notice anything awry, I will tell you, but I'm not going out of my way."
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Angie said, "He will be there tomorrow."
_______
The next day Jacob walked in to school, he told Hari all about the new kid. "Maybe he's hot," Hari suggested. "Have at it, Har. But, if he is, keep him away from me, I don't need him messing with my game." Hari rolled her eyes. The two best friends made their way to English class.
Just as the bell rang and the teacher began to speak, the door opened. Jacob sighed knowing who it was that would be behind the door. Instantly, Hari's jaw dropped. In walked a petite boy, with brown curly hair, and the brightest blue eyes. He wore black skinny jeans that couldn't get any tighter, a white oversized t-shirt that couldn't get any sheerer, and white converse. Jacob moved his eyes towards the door and instantly his breath hitched. It was a response that Jacob didn't quite understand. I mean sure the boy was probably good looking, but as a heterosexual male, that didn't matter to him . Maybe he was just surprised that the boy actually showed up or something? Jacob was pulled from his thoughts as the teacher spoke.
