As Baylee wheeled Millie in Sadie approached the pair.
"Oh my God... so the rumors are true you got..." Sadie stopped talking among meeting Baylee's eyes. Millie went a little red than looked up at Baylee.
"It's ok babe don't worry about it." Millie said.
"Well.. how've you guys been?" Sadie asked.
"Alright." Millie said and took Baylee's hand in hers.
"Hanging in there. You?" Millie asked.
"I've been good. It's been a while huh?" Sadie said.
"Yeah it has. You and Caleb should come out with us sometime." Millie grinned.
"Yeah, y'know the diner? Hottop?" Baylee said.
"Isn't that kind of South...?" Sadie said.
"We go there nearly every night." Millie grinned. "you guys should come one night." Millie added.
"I'll remember that. Also your bike? The Millie adaptation is pretty epic." Sadie grinned.
"Isn't it cool!" Millie smiled.
"Yeah! I got nosy and noticed it slides forward." Sadie said.
"How else was I supposed to ever make her drive." Baylee laughed.
"Only occasionally.. I don't really like to." Millie said. Baylee laughed. The bell rang.
"See you two at lunch?" Sadie said.
"Sure." Millie smiled and Baylee and Millie rolled off to class. They shared all the same classes now so that Baylee could be with Millie. Around fourth period Baylee caught Millie wincing and brought her into the hall.
"Breathe and wait for it to pass." Baylee said and tucked Millie's hair behind her ear. Millie nodded and soon her contractions passed. They kissed and then Baylee brought her back into class. Soon it was lunch time. Baylee found Sadie and Caleb in a booth waiting. Baylee scooped Millie up and put her in the booth first then slid in.
They all got settled. Millie ate her lunch and some of Baylee's too, who didn't mind one bit. Sadie squealed in excitement among learning the two had been dating and would even be at the dance. Everyone was talking at the lunch table when Baylee felt Millie squeezing her hand. Baylee had caught on Millie was in pain.
"I've gotta use the bathroom." Baylee said.
"Me too." Millie said. Baylee took her to the bathroom where Millie broke down.
"Hey I'm going to text your mom ok?" Baylee said as they continued hugging tight.
Mrs. Brown arrived shortly and Millie's contractions were only growing stronger. They went home and Baylee set up the bed nice and cozy and settled Millie down.
"Hey the nurse'll be over in a few minutes. They just want to get an eye on you." Mrs. Brown said poking her head in. Millie laid her head down a bit flustered. Baylee was sitting on the floor leaning against the bed doing homework.
"Can you stop that." Millie sharply said. Baylee looked at her confused.
"Stop what?" Baylee said.
"Stop working and come hold me. Our child is killing me and I don't want to be seen by the stupid nurse." Millie said. Baylee set her homework to the side and got in bed where Millie rolled over and laid on her. Baylee rubbed Millie's large belly. Millie's eyes had teared up.
"Mills... it's gonna be alright." Baylee cooed.
"I'm ready for this to be over." Millie sniffled. Suddenly she cried out.
"Millie?" Baylee said and sat up she brought Millie up with her.
"God-" Millie winced before gritting her teeth and crying out again.
"Millie? Millie what do I do? What do you want me to do?" Baylee panicked a little. Millie gripped on her hand hard.
"I- Something isn't right-" Millie cried. Baylee began getting up.
"Millie just hang on I'll be right back." Baylee said.
"No! No don't... don't leave me here alone..." Millie bawled. Baylee scooped her up.
"Mrs. Brown!" Baylee yelled and she was there. Baylee was heading for the door.
"I think we need to go to the hospital." Baylee said.
"Here just sit her down-" Mrs. Brown was talking when Millie let out a scream. She was hugging Baylee tight around the neck and she buried her face in Baylee's neck. They rushed to the hospital and they took Millie in quickly who was freaking out.
"Baylee! Baylee-" Millie was panicking as the doctors set her on the bed. Baylee came to her side.
"I'm right here." Baylee said. Millie had grabbed onto her and was pulling on her.
"No. No stop." Millie whined as the doctors pulled off her pants. Baylee hopped in the bed with her and Millie held onto her for dear life sobbing and crying out when the baby kicked.
"I think it's just false labor." the doctor said.
"Well what can you do for that?" Mrs. Brown asked.
"Nothing really." The doctor said and stuck a finger up Millie.
"No! No don't touch me!" Millie screamed and he quickly moved.
"Millie you need to relax all that stress isn't good for the baby." the male doctor scolded.
Millie bawled into Baylee.
