Ralsei's Story,

The hustle and bustle of the town folk outside the castle distracted me from reading. I slam the book shut and set it down. I've been in the castle library for a few hours, looking for the prophecy. No luck. I rub my temples in annoyance. " my father was a real pain in the ass for dying with the information of this stupid prophecy! He only gave me this stupid key!" I snarled. The last thing he said before he handed me this was
" the light knows the way "
The Key was made of metal, the shape was odd and familiar. In the middle was a transparent red gem that came out on either side. I don't even know if this prophecy is true. He might of been just a crazy old man. But this key has to go somewhere. I don't remember being any rooms with locked doors with a shape of this key. I paced back and forth my mind in deep thought. The only way to know is to thoroughly search the castle for secret rooms or chests. But that would take days. I would need help. But I didn't trust anyone here. Nobody would care for some stupid prophecy that might not even exist. I sighed leaving the library. The first place to look would have to be the throne room. It's been forever since I stepped foot in this room. Months of dust laid everywhere like snow. The servants of this castle left after my father died. They lost hope and moved away.
My paws swept away the dust off the throne seat and sat down heavily. I looked at the stained glass windows across the room. It has the same design as the key. There was a weak ray of light shining through. I sat up quickly. I looked at the key again. The the red gem was see through just like the stained glass. How could I be so stupid. No wonder this symbol was so familiar. It was everywhere around the castle. I never paid attention or thought about it much. I walked over to the ray of light.
"The light knows the way" echoed through my mind.
I hold the key up to the light. The gem glows bright. It starts floating out of my paws into the air. Sparks of light flash everywhere. Magical energy surrounds me as I watch the key turn into a rolled up scroll. It slowly lands back into my paws. This must be the prophecy. I carefully unroll it and read.

Once upon a time, a LEGEND was whispered among shadows.
It was a LEGEND of HOPE.
It was a LEGEND of DREAMS.
It was a LEGEND of LIGHT.
It was a LEGEND of DARK.
This is the legend of DELTA RUNE
For millenia, LIGHT and DARK have lived in balance,
Bringing peace to the WORLD.
But if this harmony were to shatter...
a terrible calamity would occur.
The sky will run black with terror
And the land will crack with fear.
Then, her heart pounding...
The EARTH will draw her final breath.
Only then, shining with hope...
Three HEROES appear at WORLDS' edge.
A HUMAN,
A MONSTER,
And a PRINCE FROM THE DARK.
Only they can seal the fountains
And banish the ANGEL'S HEAVEN.
Only then will balance be restored,
And the WORLD saved from destruction.
Today, the FOUNTAIN OF DARKNESS-
The geyser that gives this land form-
Stands tall at the center of the kingdom.

My heart pounded. I felt multiple emotions at once. Fear, anger, confusion, I turn over the scroll to see if there was more.
Nothing.
"Me a hero? What good will come to the darkners? Would we be free of this prison if this is accomplished? It doesn't say anything! " I questioned the paper. Those god awful lighteners in the darkworld once more? So many unanswered questions I had. This must be told to the kings. But what would they do? I roll up the paper and stick it in a pocket. I walk out of the throne room and out of the castle. I lift up my scarf to my face. Headed towards the kings castle. I could feel eyes on me as I walked through the forest. I'm not surprised, it's been ages since I left my home.

The travel was far but I finally made it. The gates of the castle loomed over me as I approached it. Two ruddin guards stood their ground.
"HALT. WHO GOES THERE?" The guard demanded.
"I am the prince of the dark. I wish to speak to the kings. It is urgent." I reply
The guards look at each other for a moment, then burst into laughter.
"YOU A PRINCE OF THE DARK? OH THATS RICH BWAHAHAHA" "THE PRINCE OF NO SUBJECTS IS WHAT " they mock

I clinch my fist ready to punch when a tall figure opens the gate.
"What in thy gods name are you doing wretched ruddins?"
It was the grand duke roulxs kaard.
He was the highest rank in the castle besides the kings. He was their eyes and ears.
The guards straighten up quickly.
He takes his hand and places it on my shoulder leading me inside.
"Thoust most apologies for thy guards. They can be.. tyrants." He gives a smile.
I pull down my scarf and nod.
I've never been in this castle before. It was spotless and shiny. Even the servants looked nice. As we walk by, I could feel their eyes on me. They whispered amongst each other.
We get on a metal elevator. He pushes a button and the doors close and lift us up.
I expect him to ask questions like
'What's your business here?'
Or
'What's the emergency?'
But he stood there silent. He never broke his wide smile. It was almost kinda creepy. It was almost so awkward that if I even spoke a word I would make it worse.

"Make sure thy speakth loud and clear"
He spoke in a serious tone.
The doors open and we walk out. We turned in more hallways and finally to the door of the throne room. The duke takes a deep breath, Like he was being hesitate and opened the doors. The room was enormous. Four big thrones and the four kings sat in each of them. Beautiful jewels hung everywhere on the walls. None of them were paying attention to us walking in. They were watching a jester and a cat magician performing. The jester and the magician looked like they were performing a magic trick. Making random objects disappear and reappear in different places. Roulxs stopped me from walking and motioned me to stay. He walked and stood behind the king with the symbol of a spade. He leaned in whispering. Moments later the king raised his hand to stop the performers with a smile. The jester bows walking to the side with the magician. They turn around and look at me. I hurriedly walked over and hesitantly bow.

"So. What brings you to our castle prince ralsei?"

The spade king asked. His voice was loud and intimating. But also calm and caring.
I take out the scroll and unravel it.
"Before my father died he left me a key to a prophecy that is on this scroll. It tells the future of the darkners. And it is up most importance to act immediately on the matter."
I walk over and hand him the scroll and back to my spot. He reads it showing it to the other kings.

"That is absurd! Lightners in the darkworld?"
One of the clover kings head says.
"They'll come to take my precious jewels!"
The diamond king says worried.

"But this is true! I feel magical energy on this scroll! What must we do?" I ask. The kings were silent. Roulxs kaards face looked light blue as he swallowed hard. The jester leans in curiously as the magicians arms were crossed like he knew the answer.

"If the lightners are prophesied to return then we must welcome them with are upmost hospitality!"
The spade king says.

The other kings jaws were dropped as was mine. The cat magician scoffs.

"DO YOU NOT REMEMBER WHAT THOSE LIGHNERS DID TO US"
The heart king yelled.

"Your excellency please understand that the lightners are not here to help us escape but to only come here to be the 'heroes' to defeat some angle and not our home! We would still be dying down here!" I yell. The other kings start agreeing with me. Roulxs looks at the king waiting for his response.
The spade king slams his fist down silencing everyone in the room. He stands up walking towards me.

"Young prince I know that we've had our past with the lightners. But it's a new age a new time. We must accept our differences and live together in harmony."
He says calmly.

I back away slowly looking at everyone. My heart pounds with anger. " that's not how I see it." I grit me teeth. I dash out the door back into the hallways. Zooming around hoping nobody is following. The kings arguing was so loud I could hear them even in the elevator. I run out of the castle not looking back.

I finally stop and sit down against a tree. I try to fight back tears as I pant heavily. My mind racing of ideas.
What if I never told the kings at all?
There was no way this was going to be our demise. I needed to change this.
Somehow someway
Ill change the fate of our world.
