Moonlight glistened off porcelain skin dashing through the breeze of the ever growing night. Swaying trees rocketed back and forth, dancing to the sound of darkness. Glowing eyes beemed from the corners of bushes, watching in anticipation as the girl brushed out into the ever expanding clearing of land.

Rugged gasps for air were cut short by quick movement, slicing through the night like blades. Screams halted as a feminine like figure collapsed to the ground, her eyes staring off into the distance, void of the girl she once use to be.

Convulsions rocked the wooden bed frame as the boy fought to regain control of his spasming body. Beads of sweat formed in tiny waves along his forehead, slowly dripping down the rest of his body. Movements began to slow as his jolting figure began to calm.

Eyes shot open as his body jolted him upward into a sitting position. Huge waves of air were engulfed to still his ever beating heart.

That dream... He thought to himself, placing the palm of his hand against his chest. It felt so real.

Glancing down at himself and the covers, he noticed the pools of wetness his sweat had brought on during the night. Shivers tingled down his spine as he stood up and glanced out into the great abyss of the outside world, radiating sun beams shining down it's ray's in great force, attempting to bring forth a day of goodness.

Sigh, Dominic thought to himself as he tossed his soaked navy tank top onto the floor. His left hand rummaged through his tangled jet black hair as he searched his drawers for something dry to replace his old raggedy clothing now resting on the floor.

Clothes didn't matter much to him so he grabbed a pair of loose fitted blue jeans and a t-shirt with some comic book stuff scribbled across the front of it.

"Dominic," a feminine voice called out from downstairs.

Stumbling down the lower steps, Dominic was met by his Aunt Minerva, who was leaned up against the metallic entrance door.

Golden brown locks rested against aged skin, threatening to expose the woman's age. Lips formed a tensed line as her greenish eyes traced the boy.

"I'm going to be out late tonight with the girls. Don't get into any trouble while I'm gone," her dagger like glare sent chills up his spine and he knew she wasn't playing around.

"Yes, ma'am," he replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes in the process.

The woman sighed before leaving Dominic alone to himself. He watched as she slammed the door, a grin slowly creeping up as the realization that he had the house to himself settled in.

Words flashed across the screen as his fingers quickly brushed over the letters, forming a text to send to his best friend Gaia.

Dominic: Aunt left. Come over to my place to hang?

Ripples of pain shot through his chest, slowly spreading throughout his arms and legs. Eyes bugged out as Dominic reached over and grabbed the edge of the stairwell as his body began to collapse into a fit of convulsions.

Flashes blurred his vision as the girl from his nightmare stared blankly in his direction. Her golden hair stretched out in masses on the cold ground, lips parted slightly to showcase teeth sharp as razors.

Spasms rocketed his body as the girl from his nightmare approached him, her soulless eyes hungry for something more. Fingers slowly crept onto his shoulder blade, their icy grip tightening on him. The frost of her breath sending shivers up his spine as she brought her face closer to his.

"Dominic," a voice shouted out, but was temporarily blocked out by the death glare he received from the mysterious girl.

"Dominic," the voice cried out again. "Wake up!"

His shaking body slowly came to a stop, as his eyesight and feeling came back to him.

"Where am I?" Dominic cried out, looking quickly left and right. "Where is she?"

"I'm right here," said a familiar voice from behind him. "Everything is okay now."

Dominic struggled free from the arms that were wrapped around him and stood up quickly, almost losing his balance. He searched the room once more for that girl.

"I saw her, she wasn't human," the words came out in a mumble. "Not human..."

Gaia, his best friend, stepped closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You were convulsing on the kitchen floor when I got here. It's just me, no one else is here."

Eyebrows furrowed as the brown eyes of his friend looked him over worriedly, her face scrunching up in curiosity. Dreadlocks swung as she once again moved closer to Dominic.

"Are you okay?" She asked as she walked him over to the couch. "Do I need to get you some water, or should I take you to a hospital instead?"

A chuckled escaped his lips as he laughed at her response to his current state. "I'm fine, don't worry. Just the universe telling me that today is going to suck big time."

Laughter bust out as the two of them took into account that life sucks, which made them suddenly frown at that realization. Quietness crept into the room as the two awkwardly sat staring at the floor.

"So," Gaia jumped to her feet, bringing Dominic to a standing position with her. "Your friend Nora is throwing a party tonight out in the old Miller Woods. Wanna go crash it?"

"Isn't it suppose to be haunted or something?" He responded, his face scrunching up in the process.

"Scared of some ghosts huh," her lips formed into a smirk. "Boo!"

"Shut up," he gently pushed her shoulder, bursting into laughter before changing his demeanor.

"I haven't seen Nora in years, it's gonna be awkward. What if she still blames me for the rift that shifted in-between us?"

"So what if she blames you? She was just as much a part of the shift as you were," Gaia grabbed Dominic's hands and started dancing. "Lets just go out and have fun for once in our life."

His eyes shifted to his tingling hand, watching as it frantically shook, unable to take control of it. Panic rallied itself inside him, threatening to take control of his every fiber.

Gaia saw what was becoming of her friend, her smaller frame quickly closing the space in between them. Thin fingers slipped between much rougher ones as she brought his hands to a resting position against her body.

Her head rested against his chest, listening to the rhythmic sound of his heart pounding,  demanding to be heard. Glancing upwards, their eyes locked onto each other as a small smile formed at the corners of her lips.

"You are going to be okay," the words came out in a whisper. "You will be okay."
