Kyo looked happy, but Ryoma looked upset.
“Ryoma, are you sure you’re going to be okay?”
“Yeah, it’s no big deal. I can’t force you to choose one of us, and if you like Kyo more, then I can’t change that.”
“Okay, well thanks for understanding. Here’s a little consolation prize.”
I gave Ryoma a kiss and a hug, and then said, “Thanks for trying. It meant a lot to me.” When I looked at Ryoma, he was blushing, and then said, “Will I ever get a chance to try again?”
“I don’t know, we’ll just have to find out.”
I let go of Ryoma, and then went to Kyo. He pulled me towards him, and I could tell he was really happy right now. I mean REALLY happy. So happy he seemed to be squeezing the life out of me.
“Sakura, why did you choose me?!”
“I’ll tell you later.”
“Why not now?”
“Well, I find it better if I tell you later.”
“Okay, well I’m glad. And by the way, you’re still kind of heavy.”
I slapped Kyo, telling him, “YOU’RE STILL A JERK!!!!!!”
Ryoma looked at me and said, “Well, I don’t think you’re heavy.” I just ignored what he said.
The guys and I went for a walk, and I thought of something that might be fun.
“Hey Ryoma, would you be willing to take me flying?”
“Well, sure.”
“Do you mind? Because if you don’t want to, that’s fine. I just don’t want to force you to do anything that you really don’t feel like doing.”
“No, no, it’s fine. I honestly don’t mind, seriously.”
Ryoma wrapped his arms around me, let his awesome wings out, and took off. It was truly a beautiful view from up here. I could see the entire island, but as we flew, I saw something. It was a little sparkle right by the place the guys cornered me at the other night. Stupid guys… was that seriously necessary?! Bad memories…
“Hey Ryoma, can we fly down there real fast?”
“Sure, but where?”
“Towards that sparkle.”
Ryoma saw the sparkle and glided towards it. Kyo hopefully saw us and followed. Once we reached the area, there were a lot of leaves and vines covering the ground, which made it difficult to find whatever was shining. I let my claws out and started cutting the vines to search. Kyo finally made it, saw my claws, and joined the search using his claws.
We searched for a while, not finding anything. Ryoma finally said, “Are you sure you weren’t imagining it? I mean, we’ve been out here for almost an hour, and we’ve found nothing.”
“No, I wasn’t imagining it. I know for a fact I saw it. Wait a minute.”
I saw something shining under a leaf, and ran over towards it. When I lifted a leaf, I found a silver locket. I opened it up, and it was empty. Ryoma asked me, “What did you find?”
“An empty locket.”
“Really? Well are you going to put something in it?”
“Yeah, and I already know what.”
“Well, what is it?”
“I’ll need to take a picture of both of you.”
“Ah, I see.”
I took their pictures with the phone, and when I got back home I would get the pictures developed and put them in the locket. So if I never see them again, I can remember them.
