I'll Never Forget You

You're always on my mind.

Period.

I always wonder if you're okay, if you're happy, how's your day going, and all the sorts of stuff in my head.

I always wondered why I keep thinking of you when I was the one who broke it off.

To be honest, I don't know either.

I don't know why I still care when I'm not supposed to.

I don't know why I still try to remember the small details about you when I'm supposed to do the opposite.

I'm supposed to be forgetting you.

"Kier, why the long face?", Blake asks.

"It's nothing.", I say and shrug it off.

"Welp, that's your problem. Anyways, Clyde and I are hanging out with the Kappa's later. Wanna come? Looks like you need it.", He says.

Socializing is tiring. Maybe no.

"Nah. Thanks for the offer though.", I say.

"Welp, suit yourself.", He says and closes the door behind him.

I look out the window and see the sun slowly setting.

I look at the way the orange, pink, and purple haze compliment each other like they were always meant to do.

She would have loved the view if she were here.

But she isn't.

And she'll never be here.

Damn it.

I should be forgetting her.

But wherever I look, she's always there.

She's always out of sight, but always on my mind.

I'm an astronaut trying to find his way back home.

But her?

She's the satellite floating all around my mind.

She's not just a star in the sky.

She's the whole freaking galaxy around me.

While I'm just a speck of dust within the her reach.

She's my everything.

Why?

I was too much of an idiot to let her go, that's why.

But I'll forget her.

Yes, I will.

I should.

And when the time finally comes.

Then I'll be happy.

For now.

I'll be going back soon for school but for now I'll be staying in this coffee shop and study.

I was minding my own business when you walked in with your friends.

You looked so happy.

So happy that it hurts so much.

One of your friends must have said something funny because you laughed so hard that you let out a snort.

The corners of my mouth turned up into a smile.

I try to memorize the way you looked today.

I try to remember the way your cheeks flushed whenever they tease you.
