Why Me? (A Maddie Ziegler fanfiction)

Chapter 1

Maddie's POV

We were at a Starpower Competition in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. The whole Junior Elite Competion Team was in the green room getting ready for the group dance. I applied all my makeup that I needed. We were all dressed in our costumes and we were just putting on makeup 30 minutes before we were going on stage. Kendall and I were both putting On last minute touches of makeup.

Mackenzie and I gripped pinkies, forever and always. We were so close together.

--------30 minutes later----------

We were about to go onstage for the group dance, entitled Titanium. We all ran through our cheorgraphy backstage, before the judges called us on.

"Please welcome number 32, Titanium", the announcer called.

We walked onstage and started dancing. There was a hard turn combo for me, Kendall, and Chloe. Kendall and I both did 4 a la secondes and Chloe did 2 coupes and 3 pirouettes. Then we all did 3 fouettes into 7 pirouettes, 5 coupes and an illusion. I went into a front aerial and fell. Everything then went black.

Kendall's POV

I looked over at Maddie seeing that she fell on a front aerial. She was taken on stretcher to the hospital. I was shocked about Maddie as we walked off the stage. Our parents congratulated us even though Maddie had fallen but Abby was a little mad since one of her dancers fell on a front aerial. Then Gianna told us it was time for awards. We sat next to each other onstage and listed to the awards given. This week me, Chloe, and Mackenzie were competing against each other with solos.

"Third place, number 68, Mackenzie!"

Mackenzie walked over to the judge and collected her award.

"Second place, number 71, Chloe!"

Chloe went up to get her award. I held my breath and waited for first place to be given. I was hoping that I would win with my lyrical solo.

"First place in the Junior solo division, number 65, Kendall!"

I heard my team cheer for me when I stood up to get my award. I couldn't beleive that I had won against Chloe and Mackenzie. I felt so proud of myself since normaly I don't win because I come second to Chloe or Maddie.

Mackenzie's POV

I thought about Maddie when my mom, Kendall, Chloe, and Nia drove over to the hospital to see Maddie. We walked into Maddie's hospital room and saw her laying asleep on a hospital bed. She had lots of tubes attached to her and one was helping her breath. I felt so sad looking at her because Maddie looked so bad. I wanted Maddie alive, healthy, and out of this hospital.

"She looks so bad," Kendall stated.

"Yeah," I responded quietly as a tear rolled down my cheek. I felt Kendall hug me and I hugged her back. I couldn't stand having her unconscious on a hospital bed. I suddenly burst into tears. My mom came and hugged me. I could tell that my friends were all sad too.
