Chapter 1

Wyatt

"Babe wake up." My wife,Georgia, said in a sleepy voice waking me up by shaking me.
"Huh?"
"Wake up. Shes crying." she shook me some more.
"Who?" i said unconsciously.
"Our-"
"Oh right right our daughter."
"Thats right big boy. Go get em." She patted me on my back as i sat up on the edge of the bed.

I put on my slides and shuffled my way to our daughter's room. I stood at the door and took a deep breath before i bursted in and picked her up tossing her in the air.

"Look whos up." i said in my baby voice.
"Me." she replied laughing.
My daughter, Mia, is 3. Shes the cutest little thing ever. With her dark thick nappy hair and her dark skin. Shes just adorable.
I changed her diaper and made we made our way to the kitchen to see Georgia cooking up some breakfast.
"Mommy!" Mia said trying to jump out my arms.
"Mia!" Georgia said as she took her from me. "Hows my Mia?" She said putting Mia in her high chair.
"I am wonderful!"
"Sweety watch the yelling." I said to her kissing Georgia. "I'm gonna go get ready." I said walking back upstairs to brush my teeth and get dressed for work. I hear Georgia and Mia laughing downstairs as I spray a bit of cologne on myself. I walked down to see my food on the table.
"Thanks babe." I sat down to eat.
"Mia here is excited for today. Right?"
"Yes I am."
"Why?" I asked.
"I'm going to the park today!"
"Nice I wish I could come and have some fun too."
"Daddy has to work today." Georgia said taking Mia out of the high chair.
"Poo."
"Poo indeed." I said laughing.
"Lets say bye to daddy and go get ready." Georgia walked over to me with Mia and they both gave me a kiss.
"See you guys later."
I ate and headed out the door. I work at the channel 8 news station as a news news anchor.
"Good morning Mr. Jones."the front desk woman, Charlene, says.
"Good morning Charlene."
I walked to the dressing room and got a little make up applied to my face to not make it shine.
"On in 5." the director said to me and my partner, Aaliyah.
"Ready?" I asked her.
"More than ill ever be." she replied.
"Lets get it." I said walking to the news desk and fixing my suit jacket.
"Open or closed?" I asked Aaliyah swinging my chair around.
"Closed."
"Thanks."
"And 3... 2..." the director said pointing at us.
"Good morning and welcome to the channel 8 news at 8."

Georgia

Mia and I watched the begginnig of the news while I got dressed.
"Look at Ms. Mac." Mia said pointing at her teacher.
The news is doing a segment on how the pre k was threaten by a robber and how they stopped him and kept a the children safe.
"Yes they are very reliable and trust worthy and my daughter can vouch for that." Wyatt said pulling on his jacket.
"Always pulling on that dann jacket." I said putting on shoes. "Lets go Mia." I turned off the tv and took her down stairs.
"Do you want apple sauce we or a fruit cup?"
"Umm. Both."
"One."
"Apple sauce."
"Okay." I got an apple sauce, a baggy of cheese its, and a juice box and it in a bag. "Mia! Door!" I walked to the door picking up my bag and the keys.
"I'm ready mommy." she ran to me.
"Good lets go."

Wyatt

"Hey baby." I said on the phone.
"Hey. I see you're still playing with your jacket."
"I know I know."
"Just get a new one."
"No I lik-"
"Daddy." I could hear Mia in the background. "Lemme talk to daddy."
"Hey sweet heart." I said after I hear the phone shuffle.
"Hi daddy. We're in the wolmart."
"Really?" I said.
"Yeah we're getting more apple sauce."
"Wyatt 5 min."
"Mia sweety can I talk to mommy."
"Here."
"Yes?" she said.
"I love you." I said.
"Okay? I love you too."
"We need to talk okay but i have to go."
"Okay. Bye. Stop it with the jacket."
I hung up and put my phone on the desk.
"Welcome back." Aaliyah said as the cameras began to roll.

Georgia

We came home to Wyatt watching tv while eating cereal.
"Why are you eating?" I said walking past him with bags.
"I was hungry."
"I was gonna order Chinese."
"Order. Need help?" he put his bowl on the center table and stood up. "Where's Mia?"
"Lord." I said and ran outside with Wyatt behind me.
"Oh gosh Mia." I stopped at the door to see her petting the neighbor's dog.
"I got it." Wyatt said jogging over.
I exhaled deeply and put the bags down and went back for the rest.
"Mommy mommy!" Mia ran in. "I touched the dog."
"Spell dog." Wyatt said from the door.
"D-O-G."
"And the spelling bee champion is Mia Jones." Wyatt said running up behind her and putting her on his shoulder.
"You guys are ridiculous."
My phone began to ring. "Get it please."
Wyattt shuffled through my purse and answered.
"Hello Wyatt here. Oh what's up man been a while. Yeah yeah I feel ya. Yeah she's right here. "
"Babe." he poked me. "Justin."
"Hello Miller."
"Good evening Jones."
"What's up?"

"Can I come over for dinner?"
"Really? You shouldn't have to ask."
" Courtesy."
"Yes Miller."
"Ill see you Jones." he hung up the phone.
"He's coming over for dinner." I put my phone

Wyatt

Georgia began cooking at 6 and Justin came at 6:30.
"Uncle Justin."
"Yea Mia."
"How do birds fly?"
"Well the flap their wings and lift off the ground. Like this." he got up and began to flap his arms and jumped around.
I walked in the kitchen to Georgia and held her by the waist.
"Sup chef."
"What ever you're trying to do will not make your meal free."
I began to laugh. "Need help?" I kissed her forehead.
"Set the table and get Mia situated."
"Yes Ma'am."
I grabbed 3 plates and 3 sets of utensils and Mia's plate and took it to the dining table.
"Mia. Justin." Georgia said walking my into the dining room with food.
They both came in runnibg.
"I win." Justin said.
"No I win." Mia argued.
"I win." I said picking her up and putting her in her high chair.
"Nuh uh." she shook her head.
"Sit down." Georgia said already sitting.

Georgia

"Hows the news?" Justin asked Wyatt.
"Pretty good. Just a couple of break ins."
"That's not good." i said.
"At least its no deaths and or injuries."
"I actually got to catch some of the news the other day. What is with you and your jacket?"
"Okay you know what. I like my jacket okay."
"Okay." i said laughing.
"I'm just saying man." Justin said.
"What were you doing today?" i asked Justin.
"Gym. Shopping. Ya know the single life."
"Single?" Wyatt said. "What happened to the Marine chick?"
"She dumped me for a librarian."
"Oh man." Wyatt said while i laughed.
"Shut up man?" Justin said to me.
"I'm sorry." i said covering her mouth.
"Anyways I'm just focusing on myself right now and my sweet Mia."
"You're a real independent woman." i said.
"Know what fu- forget you." he looked at Mia.
"I'm just kidding. Ya know you love me."
"Yeah yeah. Thanks for the dinner. You all are like family to me."
"We are family." i said getting up.
"In gonna take Mia upstairs." Wyatt said.
"Alright. Lemme walk you out." i got up.
