(First chapter for a friend. You're welcome dork)
(Y/n)'s POV
"Keep an eye out (Y/n), he's out here somewhere." Steve said, and I hid in an ally, looking through the streets.
"No shit, sherlock. If there's upturned cars he's definitely here." I said, popping my neck and knuckles.
"So, do you know him?" Sam asked.
"Cap does, but I don't. Speaking of, I'm going out to search." I said, readying my gun.
"Try not to engage if possible, please." Steve said. I hummed in acknowledgement, walking quickly but silently through the area, listening. A police car came flying in, alarms blaring. I groaned, so much for stealth. Suddenly, the car exploded, crashing into a building.
"What'd you say your friend's name was?" I asked, running towards the flaming vehicle.
"Bucky." Steve said, and I slid to the driver's side, throwing the door open. The guy was most definitely dead, impaled with no pulse.
"Cop is down, for good. He's here." I said, turning to see exactly who we were looking for. He hadn't noticed me, walking in the middle of the empty road. I leaned against a car, clearing my throat.
"So you're the Winter Soldier people talk about? Gotta say, I don't know if you're copying me or if I'm copying you." I said, gesturing to my mask that almost mirrored his. He aimed his gun at me, and I raised an eyebrow.
"Who the hell are you?" He asked, and I took a mental note on his shiny metal arm. I eyed him carefully, already looking for any weak points in case shit went sideways.
"Name's (Y/n), aka (hero name). A good friend of mine knows you, so if you'll just chill for a minute then we'll be on our way." I said, still leaning against the car. He seemed to relax for a split second, then slowly began to walk closer.
"What, so I can be hurt again? I don't think so." He said, pulling the trigger. I deflected the shot with my armor, switching to my dagger since I know my gun would most likely be my last resort. I ran over, sliding to the ground. Before he could react, I buried my dagger in his gun, rendering it useless as it went flying. I turned, running.
"Guys, it might be a good time to get your asses over here!" I yelled, having Bucky on my tail. He was extremely fast, and I was dodging his attempts to grab me.
"On my way!" Sam said, and I heard him closing in. I raised an arm, being pulled up by Sam. I panted heavily, falling on my back as Sam dropped me on a roof.
"Holy fuck he's a fast runner." I groaned. Sam chuckled, going to help Steve. They soon came running by, and I had an idea.
"One of you knock him out, I have an idea!" I said, and Steve grunted.
"What does it look like I'm trying to do!" He yelled, and Sam hit Bucky, knocking him out cold.
"Now what?" He asked.~Time Skip~
Steve conversed with Bucky, and I noticed that he was different now, rage didn't fill his eyes. I was once again leaning against a wall, making sure no one came in.
"Actually, she didn't hurt you." Steve said. I looked over, seeing both of them looking at me. I took my mask off, running a hand through my hair with a sigh as I walked over.
"Well, I did hit you in self defense, but that's probably not bad compared to other things." I said, gesturing to his metal arm that was pinned under a hydraulic machine.
"What did you say your name was?" He asked.
"(Y/n), (Y/n) (L/n)." I said. He nodded, and we began to talk.~Last Time Skip~
"Shit." Bucky growled, messing with his metal arm. I walked over, setting my brush down. Instead of going back to base, we all agreed on just staying in a hotel for the night, laying low.
"Need some help?" I asked, getting his attention. He looked up, then looked back to his arm again.
"If you think you can fix this, then sure." He replied, handing me a tool. I sat next to him, poking around to see what I was dealing with.
"I've been around the nerds to much, this'll be hella easy." I mumbled, and Bucky chuckled.
"You're a bit different." He stated. I began to put things back together, moving his arm slightly for a better angle.
"And why is that?" I asked, not looking up.
"You're tough, and have an interesting sense of humor. Tomboyish if you get what I'm trying to say." He said. I smiled, glancing up at him.
"I guess that's what happens when you live around more males than females. I'll take it as a compliment." I joked, and he chuckled.
"I can see us being good friends, you know that?" He asked. I stopped, looking up at him.
"I do, actually. This'll be fun."
"Two hotheads in one place? Yup."
