"How about a game of hide and seek?" Brock suggested, tired of his friends sitting on their backsides on his couches, his floor and even his coffee table. It was late at night and they'd all drained their energy from hours of loudly playing games.
He was met with confused stares and sighed. "Don't make those faces guys. It'll be fun, promise."
A chorus of nods, 'yeah whatever's and 'cool's sounded from Marcel, Tyler, David, Brian and Anthony in turn, until two were left. Brock turned to them, hopeful.
"Alright, I'm game," Evan yawned from his position on the couch, stretching his arms. Brock's gaze followed Evan's down to Jonathan, who was sat on the floor, his head resting against Evan's knee as he scrolled through his phone. He looked up, realising he was last and declared "Fine."
Game on, Brock grinned.

Two minutes later they had all sorted out what was happening. Brock would be seeking, despite whines from Marcel that it was unfair and that because it was Brock's house he'd know where to look. Everyone else would hide and whoever Brock found last would win.
Brock walked to the bathroom downstairs to count to 100 and, once the door was closed, a panic began. All of the grown men began sprinting to opposite sides of the house, desperate to find a good place to hide, until Evan was left alone with Jonathan. He turned to him.
"Hey, do you want to hide together?" He whispered, hearing Brock's counting get louder.
"13, 14, 15..."
Jonathan turned his head away from the direction of Brock's voice and grinned. "Of course. We're a team, aren't we?"
"Hell yeah we are."
The two made their way upstairs slowly, careful not to let Brock's staircase creak and give them away. On the first floor, they crept past a pair of feet that were clearly Marcel's, judging by the Adventure Time socks poking out. He was hidden behind a large curtain and, although it seemed an okay spot, Evan and Jonathan knew Brock would sniff him out instantaneously.
On the second floor, the two men found themselves at the entrance of a large bedroom and spied the closet that swallowed one corner of the room. Both looked at each other and knew what the other was thinking.
Careful not to make too much noise, they pulled open the doors to look inside.
"Bingo," Evan breathed, taking in the cavernous space.
Jonathan's face lit up. "This is totally our spot."
The two friends carefully seated themselves beside one another in a corner of the closet, surrounded by piles of clothes. Finally comfortable, they looked at each other in the dim light.
"Now we wait."

Meanwhile Brock paced the cool, tiled floor of his bathroom. "97, 98, 99, 100. Ready or not, here I come!" He yelled, hoping they could hear him. They'd better have found good hiding spots but he hoped he could find them quickly. Before running out to find them, he stopped himself. "And just for kicks I'm turning all the lights out!" He flicked the switches, plunging himself and all the hiders into total darkness.
He pulled out his phone and turned the flashlight on. He decided to skip the ground floor, hopping up his staircase two at a time. The landing held promise as his flashlight spied two sock-clad feet poking out from behind the curtains. He crept towards Marcel and suddenly ripped back the curtains. "GOTCHA!" He bellowed. Marcel, wide eyed and clearly taken by surprise, could do nothing but scream.
