New York. 2242. November 25th, 8:15 A.M. Emilia's point of view.
There she is. That strange girl I see every day on the surveillance network I monitor. She always rides the monorail at this exact time, and vanishes to the headquarters of the resistance. She's wanted on accounts of theft, assaults on various officers, evasion of arrest and, of course, for being a rebel. Her name is Bethany. And she's my favourite vagabond.
We can't seem to track the exact location of the headquarters, but I'm sure we will. Not due to Bethany, she's too sly, but one of the new members we monitor will probably give it away through interrogation or via our surveillance footage. That's my job. I'm a part of the New York based council that governs this world. I'm in charge of security and rebel retention and reformation. It's a nice role, I suppose, but lacklustre in any action unless I'm given permission to pursue a target myself.
Bethany is so intriguing. She's a nobody to the entire world, but is determined to make her mark as a rebel. The resistance will fall, and I hope Bethany either surrenders or is spared. Truth be told, I don't want her to die. I've taken quite a liking to Bethany. Her mysterious ways, her effective evasion of officers, and her ability to blend in with her beautiful blonde hair and distinct but gorgeous face.
Nobody knows of my feelings for Bethany. Only I do. I don't want to tell anyone, either. I'd risk losing my job. It's not hard to fall for her, with her enchanting eyes and debonair charm. Her mugshot is so wonderful to look at. I hope I'll be able to meet her in person one day - I keep trying to push my associate, Gomez, for an intervention in the hopes of catching her, but he refuses. He says to wait for her to come to us, as he knows she will. I doubt it, but if she does, I'll be the first to know.
