Moving from a city in New York, to a small town in Michigan was a little hard. Especially since mom remarried to James Rhodes who has two kids, Levi and Kaden. I don't know what dad did or what mom did to make them separate but it happened nonetheless. It wasn't supposed to be this nice. Having a new family I mean. I always imagined having a step family was a horrible thing. The evil step mom or dad along with their evil kids you know? Those step families. But this one? This was so much better than my actual family. Levi wasn't the stupid, egotistical, asshole of a guy. He's actually really sweet and quiet and understands me. Kaden is the little sister I've never had but always wanted. James? Well James makes my mom happy, happier than my birth dad ever did and I'm ok with that.
"Hayls, we're here." Levi pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Hm? Oh, thanks" I smiled a little.
"You know? Michigan isn't no New York but it's a good little state."
"Thanks Lev." He smiled at me.
We walked into the house and I found my room after wondering around for a little bit. I brought all my stuff into my room and started unpacking.
After unpacking I went back downstairs with note book in hand where everyone was sitting.
"Mom? I'm gonna go to the creek and write ok?"
"Creek? I didn't know we had a creek."
"Well it's public but you know" I said shrugging.
"How did you know about this?" She chuckled.
"OH James told me and where it was." I replied.
"Well ok, but be careful."
"I will. Love you."
"Love you too hun."
After about twenty minutes of walking I found the creek. I found nice spot to sit and started drawing. An hour passed and I fell asleep. I fluttered my eyes open. Mom must be wondering where I am. I thought. I looked at the creek one last time and something caught my eye. I walked over to it and turned it over. God I wished I hadn't. There was a boy about my age cold, face down, and dead. Upon finding him I screamed and ran back to the house.
This story is going be a police report told by Hayley but I will warn you it will be jump around from the report and the investigation. The report will be told in italics. Anyway hope you will enjoy this. Love you all ~ ray😘
