Surprise Crush

Move-in Day

It all started on my first day of college. I really didn't expect to find love in such a place of despair. You see I had just gotten out of a serious relationship where I almost got engaged and now I am almost a full month single, recently eighteen and in my first year of college. I was moving into the dorms at Connery College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada I moved into the seventh floor of a ten-story building I was moving in with a new person whom I had only talked to online and I knew I was going to be in a place where I knew no one but her. My new roommate's name was Meredith and she was from India but had been living in Canada for seven years. I was in room 723A it was one of a few two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments in the building. So, we moved in around 2pm as I was walking the entire floor to be able to get to my new apartment. I was excited yet scared and I noticed something I was not sure how I felt about at the time. I turned to my parents and said "Oh great I have an RA across the hall. I guess that means no partying for me then".

I then pulled out my key card and little did I know I was about tot embark on an eight-month journey that is about to change my life forever. I opened my common room door and to my left was the fridge and the rest of my full kitchen. Straight ahead of me was two rooms, one was already occupied by four other people one of which I would be living with for the next eight months and the other was a closed and locked door so I pulled out my room key and entered my bedroom. When I got in and started to unpack my room there is a knock on my door and my roommate, who I have now seen for the first time, answered the door and opened it to find a tall, handsome, blue-eyed, blond man standing in our doorway he said, "Hi, my name is Christian I am your RA I live just across the hall in 722 if you need me. We are having a floor meeting at 5 pm in the floor  kitchen it is mandatory for all new residents here. The floor kitchen in case you haven't discovered it is just down the hall. I will see you later". Meredith and I looked at each other for a second, blushed and said in unison, "Can't wait to see you there". We closed the door, turned to each other and gave a knowing smile then went back our separate ways to our bedrooms to continue unpacking. 

Shortly after Christian left it was 4 pm and my parents were ready to leave so I walked them back to the car and they drive off I was officially alone in a new place with only one person who I kinda knew but was unsure about as we had just talked online and then of course the cute guy who just so happens to live across the hall. How could I get so lucky? I went back upstairs and found out that Meredith had left with her dad to figure out the bus route to her campus and in her room awkwardly sitting on the bed in my roommate's room is her mom and sister. I went in when they invited me in and I talked to them for  about 20 minutes then went into my room and continued unpacking. I was so distracted by Christian when he was at the door and so did Meredith that neither of us remembered the time of the floor meeting so I went and checked the whiteboard that Christian had made with his calendar for the month of August and September and according to it the meeting started at  6 pm needless to say we were late we found out when Meredith got back a few minutes after 5 and saw it in the kitchen so we ran straight there and at that point they were just starting introductions and the circle started right beside me for introductions so introduced myself " Hi, I'm Vanessa", I said to which the whole room responded, "Hi Vanessa" I continued "I am in Business-Marketing here at the Progressive Campus". From there they moved around the circle. The guy standing beside Meredith I didn't realize at the time that he would be a very important person in my life and one of my very best friends.He is an average height male, with brown hair with blond highlights swooshed off the the right he has light brown eyes and caramel skin and a slightly muscular build. His name is Judith and a few people down is another one of the most important people in my life. He is a tall, black male with curly black hair all up on the top of his head with a fairly muscular build he also had dark brown eyes and thick lips. His name is Nathaniel. Being we were the pirate floor we had a cardboard ship to name. We were separated into 6 groups to each pick a name. My group's name came from captain Hook's pirate ship from Peter Pan "The Jolly Roger" however the name we went with was the name that came from Nathaniel himself. We called the ship "S.S. O,Ship". After that we adjourned the meeting and were instructed that there was an orientation barbecue downstairs at the events center that we can go to if we want to and being we believe that Christian is coming down to the barbecue and we got very excited and ran to our room grabbed the stuff we needed to for going to the barbecue and then we headed downstairs and onto campus for the first time. We decided not to talk to too many people at the barbecue because we wanted to keep an eye out for Christian and hoped he would come over and talk but he didn't and when we got bored we decided to go back to our room and talk about the feelings we both have for Christian.
