I know it may not be the most original story. Lord know I've read so many stories in my life that everything sometimes mashes together.
I am a stay at home mom of two very active and independent toddlers. In a sense writing this story has become an escape for me. An escape from watching the same movie for the fiftieth in a row. An escape from the nursery rhymes playing on YouTube non-stop (which by the way some of the videos and rhymes are really creepy).
Sometimes I hit my limit as a mom and just need to get away and stories provide that for me. I've read a number of books and stories in my life across many genres so I figured why not give it a shot myself? I have nothing to lose. Sure I'll get criticism, it is to be expected; but I also know that I am my own worse critic when it comes to anything I do. I feel someone is always better.
I guess this story is a way for me to challenge myself. Posting and putting it up to read even though I'm scared to death of what others will say. This a hurdle I need to do myself. Hopefully by the end I can say I'm glad I did this.
So please do enjoy the story. Sorry if it becomes predictable, or if it sounds like someone else's writing. I am doing my best but sometimes the path meets a fork or a dead end. Time will tell where this story will end.
Please keep in mind this is my own and do not take it as your own. It sucks when someone takes credit for something they did not do. (I hated group work in high school and college). I will do my best to give credit where credit is due.
Also there will be references to movies, books, music, and so forth. Please enjoy and if you do get the more obscure references, extra kudos to you. (Do they even still make those anymore?)
