Chapter XIII

I couldn't feel anything except my pain. I was hurting so much.

The last thing I remember was the moment when the car was only a few inches away from me. And then everything went black.

I couldn't open my eyes because of the light that coming through the windows.

Once I finally managed opening them a little, I saw a white room. After regaining consciousness, I realized that I was lying in a hospital's bed.

That's why the mattress was way harder than the one in my house. And it added even more pain.

Yeaah...

I had to stop complaining because at least I was still alive.

I didn't even know if I had any fractured bones, but after looking at my right leg, I already knew the answer.

I remembered going on the road, and then being hit by a car. But what the hell was I doing there?

It didn't really matter, I'm sure it will come back later.

After a moment, a nurse came to my room. She had quite a surprised look on her face, but she quickly started asking how I felt.

I explained her that I remembered only a few things about my accident, but some parts were missing.

She told me that it's normal, and that she's surprised that I didn't get any other damages.

It must've been a hell of an accident.

After spending a few hours more in the hospital, they finally let me go home.

I just wanted to go back home, and find my favorite spot, my couch. Everything else wasn't really important right now.

I finally found a way to get home.

Once I stepped in my house, it felt a bit empty.

It wasn't like that usually, but this time it was really calm.

I went up to the kitchen to make myself something to eat, because I was starving.

After I finished eating, I decided to watch a movie. But instead of watching it, I immediately fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of my stupid alarm, knowing that I had to go back to my everyday life.

The nurse told me that I was in some kind of coma for like a week, which was getting quite long.

After I woke up from it, my phone had like fifty new messages from Kailey. She was really worried about me, but I told her that everything was fine.

Before going home, they took of my plaster, because my leg had to start walking again, after that awful week.

I took a quick shower and then went to my room to get dressed up.

I knew that I didn't have much time, so I took an apple from the wooden bowl, on the kitchen's counter.

I had to act like everything was fine, because I hated when people asked me if everything was okay.

On my way to school, I was trying to figure out what were those missing moments, but I simply couldn't remember. I just had to deal with it.

Once I stepped in the school's hallway, Kailey threw her arms around me, hugging me like never before.

" Jess! Oh God you're okay " she said with a relieved look.

" Don't worry, you can't get rid of me that easily " I said trying to make her smile.

It worked

" You're so stupid! Are you okay? "

" Yes everything's fine, I just have to make sure I don't break another leg "

" At least you're okay " she said, hugging me once again.

" Okay okay, enough you softie "

" Shut up! You're still the same, that's unbelievable "

" I told you, you can't get rid of me that fast Kailey "

The bell rang, which finally woke all the students up.

" Okay, I have to go Jess, take care, and don't get in trouble " she said waving at me.

" Don't worry, I won't " I looked at her and smiled.

I had to look at my schedule, because I kind of forgot what were my classes.

My first class was English, one of my favorite subjects.

At least I was starting the day with something good.

I entered the class and took a sit in front of the board, the one I usually take in other classes.

I was waiting, because the English teacher wasn't there.

After a moment, someone crossed the door.

When I looked up, I saw one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

She was looking at me with those mesmerizing ocean eyes.

She was breathtaking.

I just couldn't take my eyes of her.
