~The year of 2024~
Okay. Okay. It's gonna be fine. Deep breath, Jenny, deep breath. It's going to be back to normal again. Well, it won't be back to normal because I just dyed my hair orange. Neon orange! It was supposed to be red, why the hell orange? I hate orange and oranges. What will mom say about this.
I stare at myself in the mirror with wet orange hair. Frustrated, stressed and angry. Frustrated about what am I going to do with an ugly neon orange hair. Stressed because of thinking too much. Angry at the woman who sold this hair dye. For about an hour sitting in front of a mirror looking at my hair, cursing to myself. I pick up my iPod and stuck my earphones into my ears.
"Jenny! Jenny!" Mom screamed at me from downstairs, for the millionth time. "Come down here this instant"
Shit, she is going to murder me. My hair's gonna be the reason why. I took out the earphones from my ears and shove my iPod in my baggy pant's pocket.
"Jennifer Evangelista Lily Woods! What in the world happened to your hair!" Mom yelled at my face. Looking like she wanted to throw a fit. Her face is red as a tomato who is breathing heavily. Dad, who is sitting on the couch look at with huge eyes like I a new species that just came out from the zoo is living in his house.
But then Dad stop gaping at me and start to open his mouth.
"Care to explain what on earth you were thinking about dying your hair orange, young lady?"
Mom, in the other hand is still speechless. I think mom is embarrased of me. Mom used to be a model and she's into the fashion and stuff, but I am not interested. At all. All she only cares is herself. About me being pretty. Recently, she got me into the model bussiness. For commercials, ads and runway stuff but I turn all of them down and mom is still ticked about it.
Sometimes it's better to lie.The truth makes it a little bit difficult.
"I did it on purpose. I like orange hair very much, Mom, Dad" I put a smile on my lips.
Mom looks like she was about to burst. She yelled some French words at me and Dad and dad said some french words to her. Well, io don't know how to speak french and sometimes when mom's fashionistas friends came over, they did'nt believe that mom actually gave birth to me. The plain Jane.
"You know I don't understand what are you yammering" I said, cooly. Mom just shook her head.
"Enough is enough! Your dad and I have decided." My mom put her hands on her hips. I can't help but watch her perfectly manicured nails and my chewed ones.
I gave a quizzicle look. "Decided what?"
Mom took a deep breath "We are going to put you in a boarding school. A fasion school"
I look at her with the face like the first time she saw my orange hair.
"You've gotta be kidding me. No!" I yelled and turn to dad "You're letting this happen?"
He sat there and nod slowing and he looks at me very briefly and turn away.
"Are you trying to ruin my life?" I asked-yelled at mom.
"At lease there's friend there. You can make new friends. You can't just homeschool here at home". Dad finally spoke after the whole you-are-going-to-a-fashion-school thing.
"And look at how you wear, that really unflattering rock concert t-shirt and the huge baggy pants" Mom said.
My blood boiled. My cheeks were flushed red. Redded than a tomato. I don't care about friends or whatever. They're shipping me out! Throwing me out! My own flesh and blood. Well, I know since day one they hate me because I am not polished like they are. I know what I wear arent like thiers.
"Fine! I'll do to the stupid boarding school! If you wan't me to leave so much! I don't even know why you kept me when I was a baby in the first place or have one. Why don't send me to the orphanage that so much better than being send off to a Fashion school to be a copy of you Mom! I like what I wear, I love my baggy pants. Okay, I will just shut my mouth now so go ahead and send me to the boarding school"
And just like that, I ran upstairs and slammed the door. Ignoring thier shocked face.
