Sun goes down
Sun comes up
Steaming coffee fills my cup
I step out onto the porch and sit in a chair
take a deep breathe of the warm spring air
At first the air feels clean and crisp
but soon I start to feel an itch
in my throat and nose and eyes
Then roaring out with great surprise
a sneeze that spills hot coffee on my thighs
I jump and scream doing a crazy dance
Feels like fire on my pajama pants
I pull them off and stand there nude
Hope the neighbor doesn't see and think I'm lewd
I see the world is covered in a powder that's green
If you've lived through a spring you know what I mean
A breeze blows and kicks up more green dust
I wave my hand in front of my face and let slip a cuss
The pollen produces an even bigger sneeze
This one enough to knock me to my knees
I feel pain as I land right on my shattered cup
Standing naked and burned, I'd failed to pick it up
I run from the pollen and into the house
Wipe off the blood and whoops! That's my wife's blouse!
"What the hell?!?! she screams
I was going to wear that to work!
Wipe blood on your own clothes
you red eyed sneezing jerk!"
I head back out to retrieve my coffee stained pants
only to find that they are covered in ants
A bee lands on my nose and I start to jerk and twitch
I smash into the door frame (this new cut may need a stitch)
Falling back on the ground as blood seeps out of my head
I sneeze and wonder why I even bothered getting out of bed
You thought winter was bad with blizzards and all of that
But take it from me, spring is nothing to sneeze at.
A/N Wrote this on a bench in the park when I was waking because when I went to get in my car it was completely covered in green powder. This started running through my head so I wrote it down. Happy spring!!!!!
