“The vase goes,” Sasuke intoned in a monotone.

“Sasuke-kun! No!” Sakura cried with a horrified look on her face.

Sakura had moved in just the day before into Sasuke’s house and now they were dealing with which of their possessions went into storage and which of them stayed back to furnish their house.

Things had been going on well until they reached a pink-splashed white ceramic vase that had belonged to Sakura’s bedside table. Sasuke was adamant that it should go into storage, but Sakura was stubborn.

The very moment his onyx orbs had alighted on the pink-white vase, Sasuke had immediately classified it as a gaudy ornament that would just make his house look ‘less manly’.

Sakura, though, was on the complete contrary.

“Sasuke-kun, it was my mother’s gift to me when I moved into the apartment!” Sakura cried as she endeavored to grab the vase from Sasuke’s unrelenting grip.

“Hn,” Sasuke replied with absolutely no emotion.

“Sasuke! Hand over that vase right now!”  Sakura was now half clambering on to her fiancé’s tall form.

Regarding Sakura with mild amusement, Sasuke continued to hold the vase just out of her reach. Though he never mentioned it, he loved watching Sakura’s childish behavior. It always had a way of wrenching him away from the reality of a ninja life.

“Sasuke-kun! You might drop it! Just give it back already!” Sakura was now giving Sasuke her doe-eyed look.

Left eye twitching, Sasuke kept himself from dropping the vase right there when he saw Sakura’s Look. She was giving him that look; the one that had him giving into her every time she used it on him. The worst part was that she knew about this, too.

“It goes into storage, Sakura. There’s no room for… that thing in my house.”

Hands akimbo, Sakura pouted. “It’s a vase, Sasuke. A V-A-S-E, vase! And it’s our house, Sasuke-kun. And there’s enough room for that vase in our house.”

Glaring down at the pinkette before him, Sasuke stayed true to his argument and kept the vase held up high.

“Oi, Sasuke-teme!” cried an all-too-familiar voice as an orange blur jumped in through the window. “Hey, Sakura-chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa –”

Slipping on the water-drenched kitchen floor Sasuke and Sakura had just mopped clean, Naruto crashed into Sasuke, who in turn stumbled into Sakura.

Dobe!” hissed Sasuke once he’d caught himself with an arm braced against the kitchen table and secured an arm around Sakura’s waist to keep her from tumbling on to the floor.

“Naruto! How many times have I told yo – ”

Crash!

All three pairs of eyes were drawn to the shards of broken ceramic on the kitchen floor.

“My vase!” Sakura cried, as she clutched at her heart in horror.

Rubbing the back of his head in a sheepish manner, Naruto’s mind worked furiously to right what he’d done before he got beaten into a pulp.

“Ah, Sakura-chan! It wasn’t even that good to begin with! You should be glad that it’s broken!” Naruto cried as he slowly backed away from the shocked kunoichi. “It would have been a waste of space anyway. Right?”

“Idiot!” Sasuke hissed. “That was given by her mother to her when she moved into her apartment.”

His grin faltering, Naruto uttered an “Oh!” in horrified understanding as he backed away into the living room.

Whirling around with a furious look in her face, Sakura fumed “NARUTO!!!” with her fist pumped with chakra.

“SAKURA-CHAN!!!”

Smirking, Sasuke unhurriedly moved to clean the mess on the floor as Sakura chased Naruto over the rooftops.

He’d maintained his ‘manliness’ after all.
