I get out of bed and head to the bathroom and see her hunched over. I grab a hair tie off her wrist and I put her hair up in a messy bun and I run her belly and back. I can hear her crying and it breaks my heart. I'd take the pain away if I could. Luckily we were going to the doctor today and I'll ask about getting some nausea medicine for her.
Once it was over she flushed the toilet and I helped her up.
"Brush your teeth doll".
"I'm sorry I woke you up Steve".
"No it's okay sweetheart. You're in pain and I wish I could take that away from you".
"I'll be okay. It's part of all this right?"
I kiss her forehead and wrap my arms around her gently.
"We're going to the doctors today. You need some medicine to help".
"Okay".
She brushes her teeth and I lay out the clothes she wants to wear. We both get dressed and head to the doctor. We have a meeting with shield later on with the team as well.
We get to the doctor and I pull my cap down more. Athena pulls the hood of the hoodie over her head. We fill out paperwork and we're brought back to a private room. I grab her hand as she begins biting her nails. She looks at me with a smile and I kiss her forehead.
There's a knock and then a nurse walks in and begins vitals on her and gives her a gown to put on. I help her undress and put the gown on.
"You're being so brave beautiful". I knew she hated doctors. I knew she was doing this for me and our child otherwise she wouldn't be here.
There's another knock and in walks the doctor. Athena grabs my hand tighter.
"Vitals were good now I see that you are complaining of nausea Ms. Walters".
"Yes. And being cold as well".
"The cold I'm thinking is just because you haven't been feeling the best I'm guessing and I'm listing all the medicines that I'm prescribing and anything prenatal over the counter will be good as well. Let's take a look at this baby and mama".
Dr. Hudson took a look at Athena and I kissed her forehead as she frowned. Then the ultrasound came and I felt like tearing up. I still can't believe that was our child.
"Everything looks good so far. The fetus is a little bigger but I'm guessing that's because of your genes Mr. Rodgers".
I figured as much I was told it might affect my children by Howard Stark.
"Now I'm gonna print these pictures out and you can get dressed and I'll get your prescriptions together, some papers and then you'll be free to go".
"Thank you doctor".
We got our papers and I got Athena's medicine while she stayed in the car taking a nap. I checked out and got into the car to drive to shield.
When we got there we took the elevator up to Fury's office and the rest of the team was there already. I pulled out Athena's chair for her and I sat down. She scooted closer to me in her chair and laid her head on my shoulder. I kissed the top of her head.
We were talking about things when a huge noise happened and it caused the lights to go off and the alarm to signal.
"Stay here Athena. Nat wanna follow me. Bucky keep on eye on her and if anything happens take her with you".
I walk out of Fury's office with Nat behind me and we move fast through the place making sure the hurt were being tended to and that things are okay.
"Steve we got a problem. Looks like we have trouble outside.", said Nat.
We run back to Fury's office and see Tony and Fury trying to get into the computers. Banner looking outside and I look over at see Bucky with his arm around Athena with her head on his shoulder.
I ran to the nearest suit there is here and I put it on and my shield and run back to see Athena standing up in a suit of her own pretty much like Natasha's but it had blue on it.
"Sweetheart you can't fight like this. You need to go somewhere safe".

"I can't stay here or go back to the tower I'll be alone."
"Doll, they'll find a way to keep you safe here. If you were feeling better I'd say maybe but I know you're not".
"What's the threat looking like Fury?" She asked.
"It's intensive but beatable".
"I can have Buck and Nat stay by me. I'm not sitting this out no way. You need all the help you can get".
"You just gotta be stubborn don't you?"
"Have been all my life". She smirks.
"Fine use your comm."
I was out of the place and i stood there waiting for the team. Bucky, Nat and Athena stood beside me. Then Bruce, Wanda, Sam, Vision, Tony, Thor and Clint.

"Be careful beautiful", I said kissing her forehead.
"You too Captain" she winked.
I smiled and ran towards the action.
"We need the air and ground covered", I said over the comm.
"Me, you, Bucky, Nat and Hulk have the ground", said Athena. "The rest can take out the rest airborne".
"Cap you definitely picked the right woman to marry. She looks good, fights good and can lead well too".
