Chapter 1 Surprise! now prepare to die

Magnus pov

Hey remember me? Of course you do! I mean come on who doesn't remember me!?. Anyways in case you don't know me. Name's Magnus, Magnus Chase. Son of Frey. And that's all you need to know. So anyways I woke up in my room in Valhalla and first thing I saw over my face was Jack. "Yo senior" he said "Wake up man" (Did I mention I have a talking sword?. Guess not.) I hated it when he woke me up like this. "Why?" I complained. "Cause its Friday! And you know what that means!" Unfortunately i did. Free for all Fridays are just the worst. I got dressed and went down to the lobby. The first one of my friends I saw was TJ "Hey Magnus" He said "Wussap TJ" I acknowledged him back. "Hey uh... where is everyone?" I asked. He looked at me confused "Where do you think? Their getting ready for today" "Ok then why are you here?" "Because I have the decency to greet my friends in the morning" After that we went down to the training room. TJ opened his arsenal and picked out the 3 weapons he wanted. You see he recently discovered modern military weapons. Now he has M16s, AK-47s, RPGs ,Gernades. You name it. Thank the gods he doesn't know what tanks are yet. Yeesh. Anyways he took his Springfield, a couple gernades, and a revolver. Me personally I preferred a nice MM9 with Jack. When I finally caught up with my friends Halfborn and Mallory were having another argument. Man their annoying. "I told you I am a grown man I can do whatever I want you crazy women." Halfborn said "Yes you can." Mallory said "What you can't do is use me for TARGET PRACTICE!!" "I TOLD YOU I WASN'T AIMING FOR YOU!!"  "Guys" Alex said "Oh yeah then why was it so close?!" "Guys!" Alex said a little louder "Because you moved right in front of it!" "GUYS!!". Alex yelled. This time they stopped. "SHUT UP." They obeyed. An angry Alex was not one you want to be around.Trust me. "Thank you" She said. I could tell she was female today. Just then Erik came on  the intercom and said "All enhrijar please report to your stations. Mine inconveniently opened right into the middle of the battlefield. I cocked my pistol and pulled Jack of my neck. "You ready Magnus?" He asked. I looked down at him and said "Ready as I'll ever be" We had this little pep talk every time before the madness began. When the gate opened. First person I saw across from me. Was the new guy named John. I felt bad about it but I aimed my gun and pulled the trigger. He shouted out "DANG IT"  before he feel to the ground. I ran over to some cover while killing some guys with Jack. Among my victims was Mallory. To which Halfborn cheered. Once I got to my cover I started fireing at people. After I got like 3 more kills TJ popped up behind me. "Sorry Magnus" he said. Then he pointed his revolver at me he was about to shoot me when I pulled the old switcheroo. "See you at dinner?"  I asked him "Yeah" he said. Then I pulled the trigger. I always felt bad about killing my friends but I felt great about winning. So far my win count on Fridays is 5. After about 1 hour I came face to face with a child of Thor. I didn't know her name but she was a good fighter. She had a hammer like her father. But she was crazy like Harley Quinn. She hit with such force my head flew off. So close to victory...so close. When I regenerated everyone was in my room (and by everyone I mean only my friends but Blitzen and Hearthstone here to). "SUPRISE!" They yelled(well except Hearth). Then I remembered something. Today was January 16th. The day I died. Its my death day. If you don't know what that is. It's basically a birthday except for us in Valhalla. Coincidently my birthday and my death day are the same day. I was about to so the traditional gimmick y'know. Aww guys you should have. When a giant explosion shook the hotel. I ran to my window to see what happened. And what I saw was kinda scary. Warships floating in the sky attacking asgard. The alarm sounded and we all hurried down to the armory.
