Tick, tock, tick...
Yes! Only a minute till summer.
59… 30… 20… 10… 5… 2...
Riiiiiing!
I immediately get out of the school building and find my friend who was by his car to drive me home.
“Cleo!” he exclaims.
“Are you going to drive me home?” I question,
“Then why would I be standing here?” he replies in a ‘duh’ tone,
“Aww, you’re so sweet!” I reply as I enter his car and shut the door.
“Whatever.” he mutters and goes inside.
I’m Cleo Caldwell and that my friends, is Tony Reeds. Or was it Teets? Well, you can’t expect me to remember names, I’m bad with them.
“Tony! What was your last name again?” I ask him,
“I said for the billionth time, it’s Ree!” he answers with much annoyance. I laugh hysterically at that. Every time he says his last name, I crack up. Well, it’s just because I’m a good childhood friend, aren’t I? Speaking of childhood friends, I just finished high school, yay for me. Tony here, is a year older than me and goes to a college called King’s Cross.
“So, what college are you going into?” Tony asks,
“I’m actually going to a university like you. It’s either Harrington University or the university you go to and take on either Business Economics or Architecture.” I’m not yet sure if I’m going to take up on Business Economics because if I take that then I would inherit the Caldwell company but that would be too much for me; and I want to be an architect so it’s really either Business Economics or Architecture.
----------------------------
We have already arrived at my house. I wave to Tony and he immediately drives away not even taking a glance at me before he left. I open the door to my house and I am not that surprised to see that I’m just home alone with my maid. I go up to my room and head to my bathroom. After freshening up, I go to my bed and turn on the TV and welcome myself to the dream world.
----------------------------
Beep beep be—
“Stupid alarm clock, waking me up so early.” I mutter under my breath. By then I notice that I have received a message from my friend Hazel who is the daughter of my dad’s secretary and my only female friend who was a year older than me. I call her up,
‘Hey Cwio!’ You must be wondering why she said my name wrong. It’s because she’s weird.
‘Hey Zel!’ Did you see what did there? I guess she’s not the only one that’s weird.
‘Have you heard?’
‘No.’ I quickly reply.
‘Stahp! Lemme finish. Apparently, there is this new kid in town. I’ve heard that he’s gonna be in that house on the other side of your street.’ Hmm… so there’s going to be a new kid in town huh? That’s surprising cause we’ve never had any new neighbors here in Edgebrook.
‘Later Hazel!’ I jump out of my bed and into the bathroom. After taking a shower, I grab a change of clothes and, since Tony’s house was just next to mine, I just walk to his house to hang out.
-----------------------
After I ring the doorbell of Tony’s house, he opens the door and lets me in.
“What are you doing here?” he asks,
“To hang out of course, what else?” If you’re in another person’s house what else would you do? Take over their house? I would love to do that but that sounds demented (even though it sounds fun).
“Whatever, you’re probably going to make me watch Little Mermaid again.” he remarks,
“The Little Mermaid is the best disney princess and I even saw you singing along like a pregnant whale when I wasn’t paying attention to you.” I state as I see Tony's face turning into red.
“Hahaha! You look like… a… tomato! I think... I’m going to... call you Tomato... Face from now on.” I manage to say while laughing. Ouch my insides hurt.
“Let’s just watch the movie.” he says.
-----------------------
My stomach growls and I look at the time. Wow, it’s already 6:00. We spent our time watching the Little Mermaid and Mulan. We watched Mulan cause when we were still small, Tony stole that movie from me and he still hasn’t return it to me. The thought of Tony watching it secretly makes me laugh and I earn a confused look from Tony.
“Are you possessed again, Cleo? Cause if you are, I ran out of holy water from earlier.” he states.
“Yeah, whatever you say. Now let’s eat! I’m hungry!” I exclaim,
“Well, that’s what you get when you eat too much popcorn and skip lunch.” he says in a higher voice which sounded like an animal that is being suffocated.
“Yes mom. I’m gonna eat properly from now on.” I say mockingly. After a while, I think it was time for me to head home.
“I’m gonna leave now! Bye!” I say, walking back home.
------------------------
When I arrive home, I sit in the living room and watch TV. After a few minutes, I hear a car getting in the garage and I instantly know who it is. My parents enter the living room and I ask them why they were here so early.
“Mom, do you remember the special day that’s already near?" I ask, hoping that she would remember,
“Oh! Thanks honey for reminding me, of course we’re attending your graduation.” I sigh. She always forgets my birthday. I’m just gonna hope that my dad remembers my special day.
“Dad, do you remember the special day that is, like, a few days from now?”
“Yes honey. Isn’t it your graduation?”
I sigh again and just reply a yes to him. I am going to be eighteen a few days from now and that is just after my graduation. I can’t believe that my parents forgot my birthday yet again! So I just run upstairs and rush to my room. I just sleep on my bed and didn’t bother to change my clothes.

Hi!!!! This is my first story and I am in a collaboration with @AltheaVeloso0 and she was the one who did the cover.
Btw, I was really tempted to say, 'I welcomed myself to Morpheus' realm.' instead of 'I welcomed myself to the dream world.'
