Olivia’s POV

I wrote a letter to one of my favorite bands, telling my story. I didn’t want pity, I just wanted to thank them.

Dear One Direction,

Hello. I don’t know if you’ll get this or even read this. But if you do, here’s my story. I don’t want your pity, but I want you to know how you saved my life. I was a happy A+ student in school. I had a lot of friends and they respected me. Some people called me popular, but I didn’t care. I would hang out with my friends, study and do homework, played on my school’s softball team, and rode horses.

I was 16 when it happened. My brother was driving home from his friend’s house when a drunk driver was driving down the wrong side of the road and hit my brother’s car head on. They were both killed on impact. After that, I started to get bullied at school and no one was there to protect me. Then one day, I snapped. I had the radio turned up loud so no one could hear me. When I was about to slit my throat, your song, What Makes You Beautiful, came on and I fell in love with your song and voices. I dropped the knife and went on to YouTube and searched your other songs.

You guys made me happy again. I listen to you every day and it brightens my day. I don’t get bullied anymore and I am a totally different person.

My name is Olivia and I am a huge tom-boy now, but I have my moments. I play football, lacrosse, soccer, baseball, ride horses, do track, and swimming. I can play guitar, clarinet, and I can sing. I have more guy friends than friends that are girls. I still get great grades and listen to you every day. I am now 19 and happy. I wish that I could thank you in person or go to one of your concerts, but that is only wishful thinking. I want to say thank you again. I have more to live for now, thanks to you guys. I want to go on to the X-Factor, but I don’t have enough money to pay for travel. Oh, well. I’ll get it soon enough.

Sincerely,

Olivia.

I sent them my letter and hope they get it. It is a true story, and I know that my brother is up in heaven, looking over me.

Liam’s POV

We were sitting in our hotel room because we had the day off, and it was raining. Louis and Harry are playing Mario Cart, Zayn’s sleeping, and Niall is eating and watching Louis and Harry. I am reading fan mail when I come across a letter and I read it. I decide to read it to the boys to see what they think.

“Hey guys, listen to this,” I say and they turn towards me listening, “this is a letter sent from a fan and it’s sad. It goes like this, ‘Dear One Direction,

Olivia.’ I wonder if we should write her back. I can’t believe that we saved a girls’ life.”

“I think that we should reply to her because it would probably make her day. Maybe we could even send tickets or autographs or something,” Niall says.

“I agree. How about we give her our numbers so that we can contact each other quicker and find out where she lives?” I ask.

“I agree,” Harry said and the rest nodded in agreement.

“Well, then let’s start writing.” I said.

“Okay. Let’s write.” Louis said. We wrote the letter and it went like this,

Dear Olivia,

We read your letter and we’re sorry for what you had to go through. You’re welcome for saving your life, even though we didn’t know about it. We would like for you to come to one of our concerts, but we don’t know where you live. At the end of this letter we are including each of our numbers with our name by them so that we can communicate easier. We would really appreciate it if you don’t tell the world our numbers or contact information. Any way, we would like to meet you when we come to your city.

Sincerely,

Zayn xxx-xxx-xxxx                  Harry xxx-xxx-xxxx      Niall xxx-xxx-xxxx                  Louis xxx-xxx-xxxx        and Liam xxx-xxx-xxxx
