Chapter two.
The fog had thinned very slightly, and i could make out my surroundings. We were in the parking lot next to the creepy Victorian mansion that was the admin building, complete with stone columns and dim lights in a few of the windows.
"You're going to be fine Linz," Cj said getting my suite cases out of the trunk, i smiled and continued to take in my surroundings. Limos and luxury cars scattered the lot. Golf carts drivin by staff collected luggage as tired parents and students walked to their dorms.
"Im going to miss you so much," Cj said pulling me in a hug. Her delicate, gentle fingers brushed curlicues of hair off my forehead, "and remember to call when ever you need anything"
"i will" i said kissing her cheek. Closing my eyes and rememering my mom. I'd gotten use to this cognitive dissonance, missing my parents while at the same time being glad for the presence of Cj in my life.
We exchanged goodbyes and i flipped my cell open to find that i had no service. I grunted sadly and stuffed it in my pocket.
I walked into the fluorescent-lit lobby of Marlwood academy. A middle aged women with her grey hair in a pony tail was darting something on a clipboard at the front desk. I cleared my throat and she looked up at my curiously.
"Um...hello im Lindsey Davis, im new here," i said.
She gave me a big smile and said,"Ah, your finally here, im terribly sorry about your lost dear,"
Her words made me tense up and stare at the designs on the sofa next to me.
Knowingly at my discomfort she said, "If you need anything at all your more than welcome to come here"
i nodded and she handed me my schedule, my dorm room number and a map so i don't get lost. Just when i was beginning to leave she said,
"Oh and dear, whatever you do, don't let them pull you in"
