Today will be the day I meet her. I have a funny feeling it will be. Finally I can crack her open and learn her secrets; secrets of her life and the resistance. I can learn what makes her tick, what makes her cry, what makes her happy. I can do whatever I want as I'm the head of security. I can't wait.
Gomez enters my office. He doesn't look too happy.
"Morris, we got a new employee today. I need you to give her the run down, security clearances, all that jazz." Damn. Thought it'd be an interesting job, and I've been dumped with basically babysitting.
"Yep. I can manage that, thanks Gomez." He puts a file on my desk, presumably the new employee. Fun. Gomez nods as I smile in acknowledgement, and he walks out.
I wonder who the new employee is.I open her file, and see her picture. She has glasses, brown eyes, clear skin, and reddish-curly hair. For some reason, I thought it'd be Bethany I'd be looking at. I think I need to stop thinking about her altogether, before she consumes most of my life. Well, I suppose she already has, hasn't she? She's hard not to think about. Reading further into her file, I see that her name is Linda Hartley. What a normal name. She has clear background checks, she seems fairly normal by my standards. She's going for the position of security maintenance, so she'll require a normal security clearance. Level 4. Being a council member, I have Level 1. Access all areas. Linda will only be able to access areas she needs to, like the security room, her workspace and the armoury. Everyone has access to the armoury, just in case there's a major breach.
I upload Linda's files into the system, so the facial recognition software should recognise her with no problems. She should be here in the next hour, so I'll head downstairs to meet her in 30 minutes. I hope I don't intimidate her too much, I've had that problem in the past with new employees. I watch the rain as I wait.
